Paper Trail is a level 25 story mission in Star Trek Fleet Command where you find out the truth behind the Tholian attack. After reconvening with the general in Nott, you spend the rest of the mission in Beta Assembly: beating a Tholian guard, hacking Tholian communications, then doing the same to a Suliban outpost. It needs warp 20 to complete and has two fights, both around 75,000 strength. The reward is 400,000 Parsteel and 115,000 Tritanium.
Paper Trail objectives
Eight objectives, no choice split:
- Reconvene with the general. Location: Nott.
- Venture into Tholian territory. Location: Beta-Montage.
- Defeat the Tholian guard. Location: Beta Assembly. Enemy strength is roughly 74,100.
- Hack into Tholian communications. Location: Beta Assembly.
- Go to the Suliban outpost. Location: Beta Assembly.
- Defeat the Suliban ship. Location: Beta Assembly. Enemy strength is roughly 75,312.
- Hack into the Suliban database. Location: Beta Assembly.
- Kehren Sie zu Ihrer Station zurück.
The mission has a clear rhythm. After the meeting in Nott, everything happens in Beta Assembly, and it repeats the same pattern twice: beat a guard, then hack. The Tholian guard at about 74,100 strength protects the Tholian communications, and the Suliban ship at about 75,300 protects the Suliban database. With both hacks done you return to your station.
Wo und welcher Warp
There is no pickup system and the mission can be accepted from warp 1. Completing it needs warp 20 for Nott and Beta Assembly. The recommended level is 25, which fits two fights near 75,000 strength.

Like A Hurricane unlocks Paper Trail, and both deal with the Tholians. Paper Trail has one more fight than the other two and pays the most Tritanium, more than double The Fugitive’s. All three fights sit within a few thousand strength of each other, so the same ship can clear the set.
Tips
Plan the run as one long visit to Beta Assembly. Six of the eight objectives happen there, including both fights and both hacks.
If the Tholian guard fight was close, repair before taking on the Suliban ship. The two are almost the same strength, so a narrow first win is a warning for the second.
Beta Assembly also hosts the level 40 mission Unerreichbar, whose fights are more than ten times stronger than the ones here.
