Optical Array is a level 51 mission in Star Trek Fleet Command where you help Doctor Yorke with his research into Borg optical array technology. You meet Yorke in Belmont, track a partially assimilated ship to Sentosa, disable it, then bring the optical array to Yorke in Dela. It is picked up in Dela, needs warp 185 to start and warp 205 to complete, and the one fight is a Borg ship at roughly 13.8 million strength. The reward is enormous: almost 1.86 billion Parsteel, plus 500 Premium Recruit Tokens.

Optical Array objectives

Es gibt vier Ziele und keine Verzweigung:

  • Meet with Doctor Yorke. Location: Belmont.
  • Track down a partially assimilated ship. Location: Sentosa.
  • Disable the Borg ship. Location: Sentosa. Enemy strength is roughly 13,794,668.
  • Bring the Borg optical array to Doctor Yorke. Location: Dela.

The mission opens with a meeting in Belmont. You then find the partially assimilated ship in Sentosa and disable it, which is the only fight. The final step carries the optical array to Doctor Yorke in Dela, the same system where the mission is picked up.

Wo und welcher Warp

The mission is picked up in Dela. The game lists warp 185 to start and warp 205 to complete, so range is the first thing to check. The route runs through Belmont and Sentosa before ending back in Dela.

The recommended level is 51.

How Optical Array compares with other late-game missions

Optical Array’s fight and reward are both at the top end. Current game data for it next to two other high-level Missionen:

Mission Recommended level Warp zum Abschließen Fight Headline reward
Deep Space Bounties III 48 160 Outlaw at about 9.25 million 32.4 million Tritanium, 6.6 million Dilithium
Optisches Array 51 205 Borg-Schiff mit etwa 13,8 Millionen 1,859,375,000 Parsteel, 500 Premium Recruit Tokens
Zwischenspiel 52 205 None listed 68.85 million Tritanium, 10 1M Dilithium Tokens

Interlude shares the warp 205 finish but has no listed hostile. Optical Array asks for a far bigger fight than Deep Space Bounties III and pays out on a different scale.

Tips

Bring your strongest combat ship. The Borg ship at about 13.8 million is the only obstacle, and it sits between you and the final delivery.

Check range before you commit. With warp 185 to start and 205 to complete, use a ship that can make every jump on the route.

The Parsteel figure is the headline, but the 500 Premium Recruit Tokens and three 100K Tritanium Tokens are worth noting too. The ten 30 Minute Repair Speed Ups help you recover after the Borg fight.
