Law of Averages is a single mission in Star Trek Fleet Command where you investigate spatial anomalies with an Independent scientist. It can be picked up in Yreva or Umxheli, needs warp 70 both to start and to complete, and has a recommended level of 1. You check anomalies in Rowla, Nikola and Stradania, defeat 20 hostiles of level 40 or higher, and bring the data home. The reward is 500 Premium Recruit Tokens and a Deep Space Datapad.
Law of Averages objectives

The first three steps are a survey loop through three systems, one anomaly each. The fourth is a hostile-clearing objective with no system attached: 20 kills against hostiles of level 40 or higher. The last step sends you home with the data.

Law of Averages can be picked up in Yreva oder Umxheli. It needs warp 70 to start and warp 70 to complete, so the range that reaches either pickup system also covers Rowla, Nikola and Stradania. The recommended level is listed as 1, but the level 40 hostile requirement is the better guide to the ship you need.

What the Deep Space Datapad is for
The Deep Space Datapad links this mission to the Progenitor storyline. Ignorance is Bliss, which needs warp 105 to complete, asks you to collect 1 Deep Space Datapad by completing missions in Deep Space. Law of Averages pays one, and so do several other missions:

Law of Averages has the lowest warp requirement of the four, which makes it the easiest route to a datapad for a player whose range tops out around warp 70.
Tips
Clear the 20 hostiles with a combat ship. The objective asks for hostiles of level 40 or higher, and 20 fights in a row add up, so bring a ship that handles that level comfortably.
Follow the anomalies in order. The objectives run Rowla, then Nikola, then Stradania, and only after the third anomaly does the hostile objective begin.
