Stirrings of Life is a story mission in Star Trek Fleet Command in which you help Carol Marcus investigate a possible new lifeform. It starts at warp 1 and needs warp 15 to complete, with a meeting in Lorillia and the investigation in Sorenle. There is no fight, but one step asks you to release 1,000 Dilithium to break apart a vortex. The reward is 101,000 Officer XP and 250 Ultra Recruit Tokens, and it unlocks the next mission, A Gift Horse.
Stirrings of Life objectives
The story line reads: help Carol Marcus investigate a possible new lifeform. There are five objectives and no choice split:
- Meet with Carol Marcus in Lorillia. Location: Lorillia.
- Investigate Marcus’ coordinates. Location: Sorenle.
- Take readings of Bos Vehna. Location: Sorenle.
- Release 1,000 Dilithium to break apart the vortex.
- Return the telemetry to your Station.
You meet Carol Marcus in Lorillia, follow her coordinates to Sorenle, take readings of Bos Vehna there, release Dilithium to break up the vortex, and bring the telemetry home.

Tips
Have 1,000 Dilithium on hand before you reach Sorenle. The release step follows right after the readings, and running short there means a trip home.
Any ship with warp 15 can do this, since there is nothing to fight. A survey ship or spare explorer works fine.
The 101,000 Officer XP is a big boost at the warp 15 stage. Put it into one officer you rely on so it makes a real difference. Carol Marcus is also an officer in the game. Other missions by level are on the Missionsleitfaden.
