Catalyst is an endgame Star Trek Fleet Command mission chain about Borg activity on the edge of known space. You mop up the last Borg drones, hunt spies, get examined by a doctor, then raid three Borg outposts for Daten on something called Abyssal before chasing the Borg fleet through Teranth and Corsen. The game lists nine parts, numbered 1, 2 and 4 to 10, with recommended levels of 49 and 50 and warp 160 to 185 on most of them. Rewards include six Jean-Luc Picard shards, two Geordi La Forge shards, over 1.1 billion Parsteel and six 5★ Broken Interceptor Parts. It is long and hard, and it pays like it.

Katalysator Teil 1
The chain opens with a clean-up job: find the Borg drones still left in Beta Sector and defeat them. Recommended level is 49, you can start at warp 1, and the part needs warp 185 to complete.

- Defeat 5 hostiles of level 48 or higher.
- Return to a destination the game leaves unnamed.

Katalysator Teil 2
Next you track down spies in Caelum. The game shows recommended level 1 here, but ignore that: the part needs warp 170 to complete and both fights sit near 12 million strength.
- Find the spies (Caelum).
- Destroy the target (Caelum, enemy strength around 11,862,502).
- Return.
- Destroy the follower (enemy strength around 12,200,451).
Rewards: 2 Geordi La Forge shards, 17,250,000 Dilithium.
The game has no Part 3 in this chain. Finishing Part 2 moves you on to Part 4.
Katalysator Teil 4
This part is a station goal with no travel: upgrade your Operations building to level 50. Recommended level is 49 and warp to complete is 1, but the upgrade itself is the real cost, so expect this part to sit open until your Operations build finishes.

Katalysator Teil 5
You get examined by a doctor in Kiina, which costs 1M Dilithium, and a mysterious ship shows up after you get home. Recommended level is 50 and warp to complete is 160.

- Return to the outpost (Talora).

Katalysator Teil 7
The investigation moves to a second outpost in Unarri. You beat a Borg ship there, clear ten level 48 hostiles and then search the outpost. Recommended level is 50 and warp to complete is 160.

A third outpost in Genflint holds more on Abyssal. Two ships guard it, one after the other, before you can pull the data. Recommended level is 50 and warp to complete is 160.

Katalysator Teil 9
The Borg answer your raid with an attack as you leave Genflint. You clear ten hostiles and then beat a Borg drone. Recommended level is 50 and warp to complete is 160.

The last part sends you after the Borg fleet to obtain the data. You stop a drone in Teranth and follow the fleet on to Corsen. Recommended level is 50 and warp to complete is 185.

Tips for completing Catalyst
Warp is the first wall. Parts 1 and 10 need warp 185, Part 2 needs 170 and Parts 5 to 9 need 160, so check your ship’s warp range before you pick the chain up. Part 4 is the only part you can finish without leaving home.
Operations 50 gates the middle of the chain. Part 4 does not complete until the upgrade is done, so if you are still on Operations 49 you can clear Parts 1 and 2 and then park the chain. The 368 million Parsteel from Part 4 and the 736 million from Part 5 are generous, but they arrive after the upgrade, not before it.
Every named fight sits between about 11.9 and 13.9 million strength, and the fights in Parts 5 to 10 all fall between 13.4 and 13.9 million. Bring a ship that can beat that range more than once, and repair between fights in Part 8, where two ships wait back to back in Genflint.
Parts 1, 7 and 9 each ask for level 48 or higher hostiles: five in Part 1 and ten each in Parts 7 and 9. Keep 1M Dilithium in reserve for the Part 5 donation. For other chains at this level, see the Missionsleitfaden.
Are the Catalyst rewards worth it?
Yes, if you can reach warp 185 and handle fights near 14 million strength. The chain pays six Jean-Luc Picard shards, two Geordi La Forge shards, about 1.1 billion Parsteel, 153.9 million Tritanium, 59.75 million Dilithium, six 5★ Broken Interceptor Parts and 15,000 Ship XP. The only donation is 1M Dilithium. The Operations 50 requirement is the part that slows most players down, so treat the chain as a long-term task that pays out alongside your station upgrades.
