Captain’s Log is a five-part Star Trek Fleet Command mission chain that starts with a mysterious transmission coming from inside your own station. You team up with an Andorian named Irhaasa, recover pieces of lost logs across several systems, rescue a Yridian broker and end at an anomaly in Rigel with a recording of Kirk. Every part lists recommended level 15, the first part never leaves home, and the farthest trip is warp 13. Rewards are modest: Parsteel, Tritanium, a little Dilithium and Latinum, Recruit Tokens, speed-ups and a peace shield. It is a quick story run for a new commander.

Tips for completing Captain’s Log
The chain is gentle on Ressourcen. The only payment is 1,000 Tritanium to Umvar in Part 4, and Part 3 alone hands you 1,700 Tritanium, so you will have it by then if you run the parts in order.
Four fights come up across the chain, and all of them sit between about 5,100 and 5,300 strength: Irhaasa’s ship in Part 1, the Arkonian warship in Part 2, the prison ship’s shields in Part 3 and the Orion bounty hunter in Part 4. A ship built for level 15 hostiles handles every one. The seven level 16 hostiles in Part 3 are the slowest step, and you can clear them near home before heading to Krah’Hor.
Warp peaks at 13 in Part 2 and drops to 5 in Part 4, so a mid-tier ship can run the whole chain without a warp upgrade.
The route runs Deneva and Krah’Hor in Part 2, then Krah’Hor, Lycia and Nelve in Part 3, Yridia in Part 4 and Rigel in Part 5. Part 2 ends by finding the prison ship and Part 3 starts at it, so you can stay in Krah’Hor between the two parts instead of flying home. The five 15 Minute Repair Speed Ups from Parts 1 and 3 are handy for patching up after the fights that follow.
Use the 4 hour peace shield from Part 4 when you need a quiet stretch to mine or rebuild. If you want another story chain at the same level, When One Door Closes also lists recommended level 15, and the Missionsleitfaden covers the rest.
Are the Captain’s Log rewards worth it?
For a new player, yes, though mostly for the story and steady progress. The chain pays 27,000 Parsteel, 3,800 Tritanium, 200 Dilithium, 7 Latinum, 60 Recruit Tokens, 230 2★ Common Refined Gas, a 4 hour peace shield and a handful of speed-ups. Nothing here is selten, but the fights are small, the warp is low and the only cost is 1,000 Tritanium. If you are past level 20, the rewards will not move your station much, so skip it unless you want the Kirk story.
