Combat Training 3: Rookie is one of the early Combat Training missions in Star Trek Fleet Command. It asks you to defeat one hostile of level 3 or higher, runs at warp 1 from start to finish, and pays 8 Dilithium plus 1 Nächste Generation Troi shard. Finishing it unlocks the next Combat Training step. It takes a single kill, so it is worth clearing as soon as it appears.

Combat Training 3: Rookie objectives

There is one objective and no choice split:

  • Besiegen Sie einen Feind der Stufe 3 oder höher.

The story line is the same for every Combat Training mission: test your skills in battle against escalating difficulties of hostile enemies. There is no named enemy here and no system attached, only the level floor. One qualifying kill completes it.

Wo und welcher Warp

Warp is 1 to start and 1 to complete, and the game lists a recommended level of 1. There is no pickup system. The only number that matters is the hostile level: the target has to be level 3 or higher.

Combat Training 3: Rookie rewards

Belohnung Amount
Dilithium 8
Next Gen Troi shards 1

Completing it also unlocks the next Combat Training mission.

How the Rookie steps scale

Rookie steps recur through the Combat Training tiers, and they grow quickly as the tier number rises. Here is Combat Training 3: Rookie next to some later Rookie steps, from the current game data.

Mission Objective Belohnungen
Kampftraining 3: Rookie 1 hostile, level 3 or higher 8 Dilithium, 1 Next Gen Troi shard
Combat Training 16: Rookie 2 hostiles, level 16 or higher 1,600 Dilithium, 1 Zahra shard
Combat Training 17: Rookie 2 hostiles, level 17 or higher 2,200 Dilithium, 1 Jabilo M’Benga shard
Combat Training 18: Rookie 2 hostiles, level 18 or higher 3,200 Dilithium, 60 Recruit Token
Combat Training 32: Rookie 3 hostiles, level 32 1,050,000 Dilithium, 6 shards each of Kerla, Livis and Nyota Uhura

Tier 3 is the smallest of these by a long way, with a single kill and a token Dilithium amount. The shard is the part of the reward that carries forward, since officer shards add up across missions.

Tips

Do it with whatever ship is out. A level 3 hostile is about as low a bar as the game sets, so there is no need to swap ships or crews for this one.

Keep the Combat Training line moving. Each step unlocks the next, and the rewards in later tiers are far larger, so clearing the early steps quickly is how you reach them.

The previous mission is Kampftraining 2: Veteran and the next is Kampftraining 3: Soldat. Every other mission by level is on the mission guide.
