Information Bought is an early story mission in Star Trek Fleet Command in which you get an information broker to talk about the Dissidents. It has a recommended level of 5, starts at warp 1 and needs warp 5 to complete. Every step is in Winber: meet the broker on Bauz, then defeat a Nausicaan attacker and a Dissident ship. The reward is 2,600 Parsteel and 320 Tritanium, and it unlocks Verstecken und Suchen. Two small fights make it a good early combat step.
Information Bought objectives
The story line: an information broker may have information on the Dissidents, and you need to make him talk. There are three objectives and no choice split:
- Go to the Information Broker on Bauz. Location: Winber.
- Defeat the Nausicaan attacker. Location: Winber. Enemy strength is roughly 533.
- Defeat the Dissident ship. Location: Winber. Enemy strength is roughly 669.
Bauz is the planet in the Winber system where the broker waits. Two fights follow in the same system: first a Nausicaan attacker, then the Dissident ship, which is slightly stronger. There is no return step.
Wo und welcher Warp
No pickup system is listed. The mission starts at warp 1 and needs warp 5 to complete, and Winber is the only system involved.
The recommended level is 5. Both enemies sit under 700 strength, so a lightly upgraded starter ship handles them.

Information Bought is the first of the pair with any combat, and it pays much more for it: 2,600 Parsteel and 320 Tritanium against 110 Tritanium.
Tips
Fly a combat ship into Winber. The broker visit is travel only, but both fights come straight after, and a mining or survey ship will struggle with them.
Repair between fights if your ship takes heavy damage from the Nausicaan attacker. The Dissident ship is the stronger of the two at roughly 669.
Treat this mission as a check on your first combat ship. The previous mission had no fights at all, so Information Bought is where an uncrewed or unupgraded ship first shows its limits. Filling the bridge with Offiziere before you go makes both fights easier.
