How Came I Here? is a Discovery storyline mission in Star Trek Fleet Befehl where you investigate the anomalies appearing around the galaxy. The recommended level is 1, it can be picked up at warp 1, and it needs warp 20 to complete. Everything happens in Arcadion: you find and scan an anomaly, choose how to respond to the aliens you meet, fight their ship, and bring home a piece of Twisted Alien Metal. The choice decides whether you get Tritanium and Officer XP or Parsteel and Ultra Recruit Tokens.
How Came I Here? objectives
The shared part of the mission has three objectives:
- Find an anomaly. Location: Arcadion.
- Scan the anomaly. Location: Arcadion.
- How should we respond to the aliens?
The third step is a choice split. In the mission dialogue, the first option is to greet the aliens and the second is to attack them. Both paths then run the same three objectives:
- Defeat the alien ship. Location: Arcadion. Enemy strength is roughly 104,274.
- Investigate the wreckage. Location: Arcadion.
- Return to your Station with the alien metal.
The greeting does not avoid the fight. On both paths the alien ship turns hostile and has to be destroyed, and on both you scavenge its wreckage. Only the rewards differ.

Rewards: 6 3★ Uncommon Refined Kristall, 81,000 Tritanium, 52,000 Officer XP, 1 Twisted Alien Metal.
Attack the aliens
Rewards: 400 Ultra Recruit Token, 821,000 Parsteel, 1 Twisted Alien Metal.

What happens to the alien metal
The Twisted Alien Metal is what carries the story into Uninvited Guests. That mission, recommended for level 26 and also needing warp 20, asks you to repair the alien metal in the Refinery, meet a chemical analyst in Fastolf, give the analyst the Refined Alien Metal, and then meet the USS Discovery in Netron Alpha. It pays 180,000 Tritanium, 36,000 Dilithium and a 1 Day Peace Shield. Both paths here give you the metal, so the choice does not affect whether you can continue.
Tips
Bring a combat ship to Arcadion. The alien ship at roughly 104,274 strength is a fight on both paths, so the greeting option is no shortcut.
Choose by reward. Greeting pays Tritanium, a little 3★ refined crystal and a large lump of Officer XP. Attacking pays a much bigger pile of Parsteel plus Ultra Recruit Tokens. Players short on officer levels should lean toward greeting; players with a Parsteel-hungry upgrade queued should attack.
The whole mission stays in one system, so once you can reach Arcadion there is no further range to plan for. The rest of the storyline is covered on the Entdeckungsbogen .
