Helix Delta is a Star Trek Fleet Command mission where you help establish a new Suliban Helix on Alpha Onias. The Helix needs a power core, and a Federation scientist in Thama has one, so you either pay the Vulcan 2 million Tritanium for it or destroy the Vulcan Wissenschaft Vessel and take it. The mission is picked up in Alpha Onias and needs warp 38 to start and finish. Both paths pay the same 3,199,000 Parsteel.
Helix Delta objectives
The mission opens with two shared steps:
- Bargain with the Föderation scientist in Thama. Location: Thama.
- Decide how you wish to acquire the power core.
Path 1: pay the Vulcan
- Pay the Vulcan 2M Tritanium.
- Visit the site of the Helix on Lihuji. Location: Alpha Onias.

Path 2: destroy the Vulcan ship
- Defeat the Vulcan Science Vessel. Location: Thama (enemy strength about 652,792).

You accept Helix Delta in Alpha Onias. Warp 38 covers both the start and the finish, and the route is simple: Alpha Onias to Thama, then back to Lihuji in Alpha Onias.
The game lists a recommended level of 1. Warp 38 matters on both paths. Beyond that, Path 1 needs 2 million Tritanium and Path 2 needs a ship that can beat a target at about 652,792 strength.

The reward does not change with your choice. What changes is the cost: 2 million Tritanium on one path, a fight on the other.

Path 2 keeps your Tritanium intact, which makes it the better choice whenever your ship can win the fight.
Tips
Judge the fight before you commit. If your combat ship handles targets around 650,000 strength comfortably, destroy the Vulcan Science Vessel and save the Tritanium for upgrades.
If your ship is not ready, paying is a clean way to finish the mission without combat, provided you have 2 million Tritanium to spare. Check your stock before you reach the choice.
