Flatter to Deceive is a level 28 mission in Star Trek Fleet Command that starts with a distress call from a traders’ ship. You can take it at warp 1, but completing it needs warp 20, since the action is in Krlakh. There are three objectives: answer the signal, defeat 10 hostiles of level 27 or higher, and report back to Kirr. The reward is 1,156,000 Parsteel and 70 5 Minute Repair Speed Ups, a solid return for a short job.
Flatter to Deceive objectives
There are three objectives, in order, with no choice split:
- Respond to the distress signal. Location: Krlakh.
- Defeat 10 hostiles of Level 27 or higher.
- Return to Kirr. Location: Krlakh.
The mission opens and closes in Krlakh. You fly there to answer the traders’ distress signal, go out and clear 10 hostiles of level 27 or higher, then return to Kirr in the same system. The hostile objective names no system, so the kills can come from wherever you find suitable targets.
Wo und welcher Warp
There is no pickup system listed, and warp 1 is enough to accept the mission. Finishing it is another matter: warp 20 is needed to complete it, because both named objectives are in Krlakh. Check that your ship can reach Krlakh before you plan the run around it.
The recommended level is 28, one level above the minimum level of the hostiles you have to defeat.

Tips
Bring a combat ship that handles level 27 and higher hostiles comfortably. The 10 kills are the bulk of the work here, and each one is a fight at or near the mission’s recommended level.
Fold the kills into your normal hunting. Because no system is named for them, any 10 hostiles of level 27 or higher count. If you are already clearing hostiles for other goals, the objective will fill up alongside them.
Put the repair speed ups to work straight away. Seventy 5 Minute Repair Speed Ups add up to 5 hours and 50 minutes of repair time, which covers a lot of the damage those 10 fights can leave behind.
The Parsteel is the headline. At 1,156,000 it is the larger of the two reward lines, and it comes from three objectives, only one of which involves fighting.
Hunt close to Krlakh. The mission starts there with the distress signal and ends there with Kirr, so finding your 10 hostiles near that system keeps the return trip short.
Other warp 20 missions at a similar level include Paranoid und A Dent in the Armor, both recommended for level 25. Every other mission by level is on the Missionsleitfaden.
