Feindliche Übernahme

Hostile Takeover is a small Independent mission in Star Trek Fleet Command in which a mining contractor needs some muscle to scare off a swarm of local hostiles. It has a recommended level of 2, needs warp 5 to start and to complete, and is offered in 24 early systems. The one objective is to eliminate 3 hostiles of level 3 or higher. The reward is 20 Recruit Tokens. It is a quick job for any new player’s first combat ship.

Hostile Takeover objectives

The story line: a Mining Contractor has had difficulties with a swarm of local hostiles and requires some muscle to scare them off. There is one objective and no choice split:

  • Eliminate 3 Hostiles of Level 3 or higher.

No specific system is attached to the objective. Any three hostiles at level 3 or above count, and there is no scripted boss or return trip.

Wo und welcher Warp

Hostile Takeover is offered in 24 pickup systems: Vinmaier, Zorga, Vawur, Mayagrazi, Toshen, Follin, Cymon, Klora, Wagirur, Mulk, Taoji, Cospilon, Sverlov, Dalfa, Jobe, Groshi, Iora, Falko, Panuq, Hroga, Bodex, Dolcan, Rabalon and Aetisan. It needs warp 5 to start and to complete.

The recommended level is 2. Hostiles of level 3 are the practical bar, so this is one of the first combat Missionen a new station can take on.

Hostile Takeover rewards

The mission pays 20 Recruit Tokens. The game data lists no follow-up mission unlocked by Hostile Takeover.

How it compares with a similar Independent mission

Hostile Takeover has a mining counterpart in Die Schale knacken, which is also offered across two dozen small systems at warp 5. Current game data:

Mission Ebene Warp Objective Belohnung
Feindliche Übernahme 2 5 Eliminate 3 hostiles of level 3 or higher 20 Recruit Tokens
Die Schale knacken 10 5 Mine 2,000 Parsteel 320 Parsteel, 500 2★ Raw Erze

Hostile Takeover is the earlier of the two by recommended level, and it pays recruit tokens rather than Ressourcen. Cracking the Shell suits a mining ship; Hostile Takeover suits your first combat ship.

Tips

Pick the mission up wherever you already are. With 24 pickup systems, one is likely to be close to your station or your usual hunting spot.

Fight close to level 3. Any level 3 or higher hostile counts, so there is no reason to take on stronger ones, and short fights keep repair time low.

Stack the kills with other objectives. Early missions often ask for hostile kills too, so three level 3 kills can move more than one mission forward. The 20 Recruit Tokens go toward officer recruitment.

Pair it with Cracking the Shell once you reach level 10. The two missions are offered across similar groups of small systems, so a combat ship can clear Hostile Takeover while a mining ship works on the Parsteel for the other. Other missions sorted by level are on the Missionsleitfaden.
