Eye of the Beholder is a level 64 story mission in Star Trek Fleet Command in which you go undercover inside the Cult Eternus. It starts at warp 1 and needs warp 1,200 to complete, moving from Wq’al to Savtaagh. After your initiation, a cult Watcher asks whether you can stomach his methods, and your answer splits the mission into two paths. Both end with the same fight, an interloper of about 4.19 billion strength, and both pay 366,000 Raw Σ-Parsteel, plus either Σ-Dilithium or 6★ Raw Crystal. Finishing it unlocks Tomorrow & Tomorrow.
Eye of the Beholder objectives
Three objectives come before the choice:
- Find the wreckage. Location: Wq’al.
- Infiltrate the Cult Eternus. Location: Savtaagh.
- Undergo initiation into the Cult Eternus. Location: Savtaagh.
Slooch Morey turns up with an offer. The only way to learn what the cult is planning is to get inside, and he has done undercover jobs before. He has heard that one of the cult’s ships was shot up in Klingonisch space; if it can be repaired, it can carry you into a cult hideout undetected. The wreck is mostly slag, but Howards says he can fix it and meets you with the ship.
Seer Myrene welcomes you as a lost soul and sends you to the Watcher, who is holding a prisoner, Jessa Ortes, and complains about prison duty. He warns you that rebuilding a galaxy is not clean work and asks whether you have a problem getting your hands dirty. Maia asks what you should do.
Follow your orders
- Destroy the interloper. Location: Savtaagh. Enemy strength about 4,194,200,695.
- Return to the Watcher. Location: Savtaagh.
Rewards: 1,400 Σ-Dilithium, 366,000 Raw Σ-Parsteel.
Disobey your orders
- Destroy the interloper. Location: Savtaagh. Enemy strength about 4,194,200,695.
- Return to the Watcher. Location: Savtaagh.
Rewards: 122,000 6★ Raw Kristall, 366,000 Raw Σ-Parsteel.
The objectives are the same on both paths. Only the Watcher’s reaction differs before another intruder appears and he makes eliminating it your first test. Either way, he promotes you to Acolyte afterwards, praising the fervour you fought with.
Wo und welcher Warp
No pickup system is listed. The mission starts at warp 1 and needs warp 1,200 to complete. The wreckage is in Wq’al and everything else is in Savtaagh. The recommended level is 64.

Eye of the Beholder and its neighbours
| Mission | Recommended level | Warp to complete | Story |
|---|---|---|---|
| Eyes of Destiny | 64 | 1,100 | Discover who is behind the murders. |
| Eye of the Beholder | 64 | 1,200 | Go undercover within the Cult Eternus. |
| Tomorrow & Tomorrow | 64 | 1,200 | Survive an infested system. |
Tips
The choice only changes the reward, so pick the resource you need. Σ-Dilithium is the refined option; 6★ Raw Crystal saves mining time if you are short of it.
The interloper is weaker than the 4.68 billion Cultist in Eyes of Destiny, so a ship that cleared that mission should manage here. Tomorrow & Tomorrow keeps the warp at 1,200. The cult’s ships also roam deep space as hostiles like the Eternus Seeker. Die Σ resources guide covers Σ-Dilithium, and more missions are on the mission guide.
