Double Take is a short Romulan-side story mission built around one decision. You carry intelligence to General Darig, then choose whether to tell him the truth about where the data really came from. It suits players around level 25, starts in the Nott system, and pays out either Parsteel or Dilithium depending on the answer you give.
Double Take objectives
The mission runs in a few short beats. Your job is to relay the intelligence you are carrying to General Darig, and the payout rides entirely on the choice you make once you reach him.
- Meet with General Darig in the Nott system, which sits in neutral space.
- Answer the prompt “Tell Darig the truth?” This is the branch point for the whole mission.
- Return to your station to close out whichever path you picked.
The choice does not change what you do next. Both answers send you back to your station. What it does change is the reward waiting for you there, so read the two options below before you commit.
Wo und welcher Warp
Double Take begins in Nott, one warp from the mission pickup, so reaching the opening objective is quick. The mission itself takes you up to 20 warp out before it finishes, which is the number to plan around. Send a ship with the warp range to cover that distance so you are not stranded on the final leg. The recommended level is 25, which keeps the objectives manageable for most players working through the Romulanisch story at that point. There is no combat step called out, so a survey or utility ship handles the travel fine. Nott is neutral space, which means you can pass through without picking a fight over faction standing on the way in.
Double Take rewards
Your answer to Darig sets the payout. Both paths also grant five 3 Hour Speed Ups, so that piece is fixed no matter what you decide.
- Yes, tell the truth (the Romulans gave the data): 251,000 Parsteel plus five 3 Hour Speed Ups.
- No, keep it a secret: 8,000 Dilithium plus five 3 Hour Speed Ups.
Neither choice blocks your progress. Double Take sits in the middle of a Romulan mission run, following Paranoid and leading into Call Your Shot, so you continue the story either way.
Tips
Pick based on what you are short on. If your builds are stalling for want of Parsteel, the “yes” path and its 251,000 Parsteel is the stronger pull. If you are saving toward research or upgrades that eat Dilithium, the “no” path and its 8,000 Dilithium is the better grab. The five 3 Hour Speed Ups are identical on both sides, so they should not sway you.
One thing to line up before you start: the 20 warp to complete. Check your ship roster and confirm you have a hull that can reach that range, then run the mission in one sitting. Because the decision is permanent for this playthrough, glance at your resource balance first and let your current shortage make the call for you. Both outcomes keep the Romulan story moving, so the only real question is which resource you would rather bank today.
