The Calling is a ten-part Star Trek Fleet Command mission chain about a string of experiments on living sentient beings, which leads you to the Kreyantha, their captives and finally their homeworld. Every part is recommended for level 34 and needs warp 19 to 24 to complete. The chain opens with a distress call in Alpha Horunia and ends with a Federation embassy on the Kreyantha base world. Headline rewards are shards for SNW Hemmer and Strike Team SNW Una, 1,000 Premium Recruit Tokens, 330 each of three 3★ ship part types and a large stack of speed-ups. It is a steady, combat-heavy chain worth finishing for the two Offiziere.

You start investigating the experiments by answering two distress calls, one of them in Klingonisch space, before regrouping in Federation territory.
- Answer a distress call from Pesau in the Alpha Horunia system (Alpha Horunia).

- Defeat the Klingon ship (Izth, enemy strength around 418,676).
- Pursue clues in the Pasadoran system (Pasadoran).

- Regroup in the Föderation system of Gemet (Gemet).

A survivor could explain what is going on, so you follow the rumors through three systems and bring them back to Gemet. There is no combat in this part.

- Collect the survivor from Narendra IV (Narendra).

Tips for completing The Calling
Warp stays between 19 and 24 across all ten parts, so any ship that reaches warp 24 can do the whole chain. Part 2 and Part 8 have no fights at all, which makes them good parts to run with whatever ship is free.
Every named fight is either about 415,000 to 419,000 strength or about 431,670. Part 5 and Part 7 each have three of them, two back to back at Starbase 76 in Part 5 and all three in Seevor in Part 7, so repair between fights or bring repair speed-ups. Part 6 pays 15 of those, which helps for Part 7 right after.
Keep 100,000 Tritanium on hand for Part 3. It is the only donation in the chain.
The two grinds are 10 level 25+ ships in Part 1 and 10 level 29+ Kreyantha ships in Part 9, which have to be Kreyantha. Park near Retha for the second one rather than hunting elsewhere.

Are The Calling rewards worth it?
Yes. The chain gives two sets of officer shards (SNW Hemmer in Part 5 and Strike Team SNW Una in Part 10), 1,000 Premium Recruit Tokens, 135,000 Officer XP, nearly a thousand 3★ ship parts and dozens of speed-ups, including 18 of the 8 hour kind. The fights stay in a narrow strength band and the only donation is 100,000 Tritanium, so the effort for a level 34 commander is modest.
