The First Shot is a late-game Star Trek Fleet Command mission where you fight off an assassination attempt. It is picked up in Talvath and needs warp 75 to start and warp 85 to complete. You answer a distress call in Beta Niobe, beat an ambush and a second assassin, then follow a mysterious ship to Asronal. The reward is 3,375,000 Dilithium, 700 4★ Gemeinsame Explorer Parts, 600 Romulan Credits and 311,000 Romulan Points, with a loss of 320,952 Federation Points.
The First Shot objectives
There are five objectives in a fixed order and no choice split:
- Respond to the distress call. Location: Beta Niobe.
- Defeat the ambush. Location: Beta Niobe. Enemy strength is about 4,339,888.
- Defeat the second assassin. Location: Beta Niobe. Enemy strength is about 1,075,836.
- Follow the mysterious ship. Location: Asronal.
- Kehren Sie zu Ihrer Station zurück.
The distress call in Beta Niobe is the trap. The ambush is the big fight at about 4.3 million strength, and a second assassin follows at about 1.1 million. After both are down you trail the mysterious ship to Asronal and then return home.

The game lists a recommended level of 1. The warp 75 start and the ambush at about 4.3 million strength say far more about who can run it.

Both pay 600 Romulan Credits and 311,000 Romulan Points and remove 320,952 Federation Points. The First Shot is the harder of the two by a wide margin, while the follow-up pays far more in raw Ressourcen.
Tips
Bring your strongest combat ship and go in fully repaired. The ambush at about 4.3 million strength is the hardest step, and it comes first.
Repair before the second assassin if the ambush leaves you damaged. Both fights are in Beta Niobe.
