Corvallen Deceiver

The Corvallen Deceiver is a neutral Explorer-class hostile in Star Trek Fleet Command, found in the low-warp region between warp 13 and 28. It spawns from level 20 to 38 and drops Tritanium, which makes it a steady early source of refined material. Because it only shows up as an Explorer, the quickest way to clear it is a Battleship crewed for damage against hostiles.

How to beat the Corvallen Deceiver

The Corvallen Deceiver only appears as an Explorer, and in the combat triangle Schlachtschiffe beat Explorers. Bring a Battleship and you hold the type advantage at every level, so there is nothing to swap between the low-20s spawns and the level 38 version. Interceptors take extra punishment against Explorers, so leave them docked for this target. Vermessungsschiffe fight poorly across the board and should not be sent after it either.

Match the ship to the level you are farming. A low-tier Battleship handles the level 20 Deceiver with its total strength under 18,000, but the level 38 version pushes past 900,000 strength, so you want a well-upgraded hull and tier-appropriate weapons before you take the top of the range. The Deceiver hits with three Energy weapons every round rather than one heavy strike, so its damage lands as steady chip damage. That rewards a defense built around armor and shield mitigation over trying to out-burst it, and it means the fight is predictable once you can absorb a full round.

Crew for raw hostile damage. Put a captain that boosts weapon damage against hostiles in the chair, then fill the other seats with Offiziere that add damage or mitigation. Early on, the cadet crew of Cadet Kirk as captain with Cadet Spock and Cadet Uhura is a cheap, reliable option that suits the Deceiver’s level 20 to 38 band. As you climb, check the officer tier list for stronger picks, since the best crews shift with the meta.

Where to find the Corvallen Deceiver

At low levels the Deceiver clusters in a handful of warp 13 systems such as Levesque, Priya, and Huebr. The mid-20s spawns move out to warp 17 and 18 around Etaoin and Hann, and the highest-level versions sit alone in Lixar at warp 28. Warp requirement rises step by step with level, so the deeper you want to farm, the more warp range your ship needs. Check the row below for the exact level, warp, and systems before you send a ship out.

Ebene Warp Systeme
20 13 Levesque, Priya
21 13 Huebr, Levesque, Priya
22 13 Etaoin, Huebr, Levesque, Priya
23–25 13 Etaoin, Hann, Huebr, Priya
26–27 17 Etaoin, Hann, Huebr
28 18 Etaoin, Hann
29 18 Hann
32–38 28 Lixar

Rewards and what it drops

The Deceiver pays out in Tritanium, one of the three basic refined materials alongside parsteel and Dilithium. A single kill drops between 166 and 558 depending on the level you attack. Tritanium feeds almost everything in the early game, from ship builds and upgrades to station Gebäude and research, so a target that hands it out on a short kill loop is useful while you are still climbing operations levels. Ship XP scales the same way, climbing from 234 at level 20 to 825 at level 38, so higher spawns are worth more toward ship experience if your Battleship can take them cleanly.

Corvallen Deceiver stats

Stats climb steeply with level, so a level 38 Deceiver is far tougher than the level 20 version.

Ebene Total strength Hull HP Shield HP Angriff Verteidigung Ship XP
20 17,996 3,460 3,650 7,321 7,120 234
28 102,720 21,600 22,800 39,270 41,250 454
38 910,378 138,570 146,270 386,538 381,420 825

Corvallen Deceiver firing pattern

The Deceiver fires three Energy weapons every round, so its damage is steady rather than spiky. There is no charged burst to time repairs around; plan for consistent chip damage each round and keep your hull tanking or mitigation ready for the whole fight.

Weapon type Count Damage per shot Fires Crit
Energie 3 1,167–1,426 Every round 10% (1.5x)

The Corvallens in Star Trek

The Corvallens are an independent species of freight haulers and guns-for-hire who work the space between the major powers, taking contracts from whoever pays. In the Next Generation episode “Face of the Enemy,” a Corvallen freighter crew was hired to move Romulanisch defectors, then killed by a Romulan warbird to bury the operation. That reputation as neutral, for-hire operators fits the Deceiver’s role in the game: an unaligned raider you run into while working contested low-level systems, loyal to no faction and happy to shoot at yours.

Is the Corvallen Deceiver worth grinding?

The Deceiver is a solid early Tritanium farm and a clean source of ship XP if you counter it correctly. It is not a rare-loot target, so treat it as filler while you level a Battleship rather than a priority grind. The steady Energy damage and single Explorer hull make it one of the more predictable low-level hostiles to farm on repeat. Bring the right hull, match the warp for the level you want, and it goes down without much trouble.
