Business as Usual is a neutral story mission in Star Trek Fleet Command that puts you on a rescue run for a stranded Starfleet cadet named T’Pora, who has fallen into the hands of the Orion Syndicate. It is tuned for commanders around level 26, auto-starts without being picked up from an NPC, and reaches 18 warp at its farthest point. Finish it and you bank 94,000 Tritanium and 19,000 Dilithium, plus it opens the next mission in the neutral storyline.
Das Orion-Syndikat is one of the early game’s recurring enemy factions, and this mission is your cue to start treating their ships as targets you plan for rather than fly past. Because it auto-starts, Business as Usual lands in your mission log on its own once you reach the right point in the neutral chain, so there is no NPC to visit and no accept step to hunt down.
Business as Usual objectives
The mission runs across two systems and then sends you home. Here is the order of play:
- Respond to the distress call in the Narendra system.
- Besiegen Sie die Syndikat member in Narendra. This is an Orion Syndicate ship sitting at roughly 154,890 strength, so it is a real fight rather than a formality.
- Get T’Pora back to Starfleet by traveling to the Angosia system.
- Return your ship to your home station to close out the mission.
There are no choice splits in Business as Usual. Every commander follows the same four steps in the same order, which makes it one of the more straightforward Missionen in this stretch of the storyline.
Wo und welcher Warp
Two systems carry the whole mission. Narendra is where you answer the distress call and take on the Syndicate ship, and Angosia is where you deliver T’Pora safely back to Starfleet. The trip out asks for up to 18 warp, so confirm your warp range covers that distance before you leave your station, or you will stall partway through. The recommended level is 26, which matches the early neutral missions this one sits among. The distress call and the Syndicate fight both happen in Narendra, so you only make one long jump for the whole mission, then a shorter hop to Angosia before heading home.
Business as Usual rewards
Clearing all four objectives pays out 94,000 Tritanium and 19,000 Dilithium. Both are core early-game Ressourcen: Tritanium feeds ship and building upgrades, and Dilithium is the currency you spend on research and speeding up construction. The mission also unlocks the next step in the neutral chain, A Helping Hand, so it works as story progression on top of the resource payout.
Tips
The one place Business as Usual can trip you up is the Syndicate ship in Narendra. At around 155,000 strength it will punish an under-crewed or under-tiered vessel, so bring a combat ship and a crew you trust before you engage instead of jumping in with a miner. Double-check that your warp range reaches 18 so the leg out to Angosia does not leave you short. If you are working through the neutral storyline in order, this mission follows Trust Your Instincts and leads straight into A Helping Hand, which makes it a natural stop on the way to the bigger rewards further down the chain.
