Botany Bay is an eight-part Star Trek Fleet Command mission chain about gathering Plutonium to tier up the Botany Bay. Every part has a single objective: gather a set amount of Gemeinsame, Uncommon or Rare Plutonium. The game lists recommended level 1 and warp 1 for every part, so there is no travel and no combat; your Plutonium supply is the only gate. Across the chain you collect 84 Joaquin shards and 183 hours of speed-ups. If you are building the Botany Bay, run it as you go.

Botany Bay Teil 1

The chain opens with the smallest request. Acquiring Plutonium lets you tier up the Botany Bay, and the first step asks only for Common Plutonium.

  • Gather 15 Common Plutonium.

Warp to complete: 1. Rewards: 3 Joaquin shards.

Botany Bay Teil 2

Part 2 doubles the Common Plutonium target and adds the first speed-ups.

  • Gather 30 Common Plutonium.

Warp to complete: 1. Rewards: 3 Joaquin shards, 11 × 1 Hour Speed Up.

Botany Bay Teil 3

This is the last and largest Common Plutonium step. After this the chain moves to rarer grades.

  • Gather 60 Common Plutonium.

Warp to complete: 1. Rewards: 5 Joaquin shards, 4 × 3 Hour Speed Up.

Botany Bay Teil 4

Part 4 switches to Ungewöhnlich Plutonium. The count drops to just two units, but the grade goes up, and the Joaquin payout rises with it.

  • Gather 2 Uncommon Plutonium.

Warp to complete: 1. Rewards: 7 Joaquin shards, 6 × 3 Hour Speed Up.

Botany Bay Teil 5

Gather Uncommon Plutonium to upgrade the Botany Bay. The target climbs to ten units.

  • Gather 10 Uncommon Plutonium.

Warp to complete: 1. Rewards: 10 Joaquin shards, 8 × 3 Hour Speed Up.

Botany Bay Teil 6

The final Uncommon step asks for 15 units, which is where many players will need to wait on their Plutonium income.

  • Gather 15 Uncommon Plutonium.

Warp to complete: 1. Rewards: 16 Joaquin shards, 10 × 3 Hour Speed Up.

Botany Bay Teil 7

Part 7 introduces Seltene Plutonium for the next tier of the Botany Bay. Two units are enough, and the speed-ups move up to 8 hours each.

  • Gather 2 Rare Plutonium.

Warp to complete: 1. Rewards: 18 Joaquin shards, 5 × 8 Hour Speed Up.

Botany Bay Teil 8

The chain ends with its biggest ask and biggest payout: 15 Rare Plutonium for the largest batch of Joaquin shards.

  • Gather 15 Rare Plutonium.

Warp to complete: 1. Rewards: 22 Joaquin shards, 6 × 8 Hour Speed Up.

Tips for completing Botany Bay

Every part is a gather objective with warp 1, so there are no systems to reach, no hostiles to fight and no donations to make. Treat the chain as a running tally that completes whenever your Plutonium stock hits each target. The parts unlock in order, so Part 8 cannot count until Parts 1 to 7 are done.

Across all eight parts you need 105 Common Plutonium, 27 Uncommon Plutonium and 17 Rare Plutonium. The Common steps (Parts 1 to 3) go quickly. The jumps come at Part 4, where Uncommon Plutonium starts, and at Part 7, where Rare Plutonium starts. Part 8 alone asks for 15 Rare, which is most of the total.

The recommended level 1 on each part does not mean a new account can finish it. The real requirement is having access to the Plutonium grades each part asks for, so expect the Rare steps to take longer than the rest of the chain combined.

Joaquin shards scale steeply toward the end. Parts 1 to 3 give 11 shards between them, while Parts 6 to 8 give 56, two thirds of the chain’s 84. If Joaquin is the reason you are here, the Uncommon and Rare parts are where the value is.

The speed-ups add up to 11 × 1 Hour, 28 × 3 Hour and 11 × 8 Hour Speed Ups, 183 hours in total. Save them for long building or research timers rather than spending them as they arrive. Joaquin is one of Khan’s followers in Star Trek lore; see Khan Noonien Singh for the officer page. For another chain that runs entirely from home, look at USS Franklin-A, and the full list of chains is on the mission guide.

Are the Botany Bay rewards worth it?

Yes, if you are tiering up the Botany Bay anyway. The chain pays for Plutonium you would gather for the ship regardless, and it returns 84 Joaquin shards plus 183 hours of speed-ups for zero travel and zero combat. There is no reason to skip it. The only question is timing: the first three parts clear quickly, while the Rare Plutonium parts at the end resolve on your Plutonium income rather than your effort.
