Blooper Reel is a five-part mission chain in which an eccentric film director, Clive Manselle, hires you to help make his masterpiece: scouting locations, buying a fleet of prop ships, calming his feuding stars and finally playing the villain on set. Parts 1 and 2 are recommended for level 57 and Parts 3 to 5 for level 58. You pick the chain up in Merius at warp 255, and the parts need warp 255 to 355 to complete. Rewards lean on speed ups, Parsteel and Premium Recruit Tokens, with a Deanna Troi shard at the end. Most of the work is hostile sweeps.

Blooper Reel Part 1

Help an eccentric film director realize his magnum opus. Manselle wants the perfect filming location, but each system he likes is full of what he calls riff-raff, and he asks you to scare them off.

  • Scout the first potential filming location, in Bell’eu.
  • Defeat 15 hostiles of Level 55 or higher.
  • Scout the next potential filming location, in Sauchei.
  • Defeat 15 hostiles of Level 56 or higher.

Warp to complete: 320.

Rewards: 280 3 Hour Speed Up, 10,500,000 Dilithium, 10 30 Minute Repair Speed Up, 3 100K Tritanium Token.

Blooper Reel Part 2

Secure a fleet of decommissioned ships that Manselle can use as props. The trader will only sell if another buyer, McGruder, drops his bid, and McGruder only needs the ships because Klingons keep attacking him.

  • Negotiate with a local ship trader, in New Canberra.
  • Make a downpayment of 20M Dilithium.
  • Appeal to the client to relinquish their bid on the ships, in Draumen.
  • Investigate the source of the client’s troubles, in Ishka’du.
  • Defeat 15 hostiles of Level 56 or higher.
  • Return to the trader and finish the deal, in New Canberra.

Thinning out the Klingonisch attackers is enough to make them retreat, and the deal goes through. Warp to complete: 355.

Rewards: 350 15 Minute Repair Speed Up, 9 1B Parsteel Token, 10 30 Minute Repair Speed Up, 3 100K Tritanium Token.

  • Defeat 20 hostiles of Level 56 or higher.
  • Donate 5B Parsteel to repair the set and props.

Tips for completing Blooper Reel

This chain is mostly hostile sweeps: 30 hostiles in Part 1, 15 in Part 2 and 20 in Part 3, at level 55 or 56 and up. None of those objectives lists a system, so use whichever hunting ground is closest.

The only named fights are the three prop ships in Part 5, each listed at between about 36.7 million and 38.3 million strength. They are back to back in Sauchei, but they are weak for a level 58 commander.

Budget 20M Dilithium for Part 2 and 5B Parsteel for Part 3. Part 4 refunds that Parsteel many times over with 8.075 billion Parsteel on either path.

At the Part 4 choice, pick Revok’s character to die if you want recruit tokens (500 Premium Recruit Tokens), or Valentino’s if you would rather have 140 15 Minute Repair Speed Ups.

Are the Blooper Reel rewards worth it?

Yes, as a steady payout for easy work. Across the chain you collect up to 1,000 Premium Recruit Tokens, 19 1B Parsteel Tokens plus 8 billion Parsteel, 50 30 Minute Repair Speed Ups, 15 100K Tritanium Tokens and a Deanna Troi shard. The fights are weak and the travel stays under warp 355. For more missions in this range, see the STFC mission guide.
