Assimilated Federation Scout

The Assimilated Federation Scout is a Borg-assimilated hostile that roams Delta Quadrant space at levels 39, 45, and 54. It spawns only as an Interceptor, so an Explorer counters it cleanly. You will find it in the Shal’ika, Misalup, and Neara systems at warp 165 to 700. The higher spawns drop 4-star Broken Interceptor Parts, while the level 39 version instead yields Parsteel. Bring an Explorer with a weapon-damage crew and it goes down quickly.

How to beat the Assimilated Federation Scout

STFC combat runs on a class triangle: Interceptors beat Schlachtschiffe, Battleships beat Explorers, and Explorers beat Interceptors. Vermessungsschiffe sit outside that triangle and barely fight. The Assimilated Föderation Scout always appears as an Interceptor hull, so the class that holds the advantage over it is the Explorer. Fly an Explorer you have leveled for the band you plan to farm and you get the class bonus on every kill.

Its defense stays modest for its level, so weapon damage does the heavy lifting. The shield and hull HP climb hard as you move up the three spawns, so bring enough firepower to break through in a few rounds. At level 39 you punch through about 2.3 million shield HP and 2.3 million hull HP. By level 54 both figures jump past 69 million and 101 million, so match your ship to the exact spawn you want rather than assuming one build clears them all. As an Interceptor the scout leans on attack over defense, which is why an Explorer both weathers its hits and returns extra damage from the class bonus.

Crew matters as much as hull. Put a captain in the chair who boosts weapon damage against hostiles, then fill the other seats with Offiziere that add damage or soak incoming fire. If you are clearing the level 39 spawn early, the cadet crew of Cadet Kirk with Cadet Spock and Cadet Uhura still adds enough to help, though it runs short of power by level 54. For current picks, check the Officer Tier List. Crews shift with the meta, so treat any named crew as a starting point.

Where to find the Assimilated Federation Scout

The Assimilated Federation Scout spawns at three separate levels, each in a single system. The level 39 target sits in Shal’ika at warp 165, level 45 moves out to Misalup at warp 225, and the level 54 version is far out in Neara at warp 700. The warp jump between spawns is steep, so if your ship tops out at warp 165 you are limited to Shal’ika until you extend your range. Pick the level you want, park in its system, and clear targets as they respawn.

54 700 Neara

Rewards and what it drops

The main reason to farm this scout is 4-star Broken Interceptor Parts, which drop from the level 45 and 54 spawns. You use those parts to build and repair mid-tier Interceptors, so this hostile is a handy stop when you are working on an Interceptor hull. The level 39 spawn does not drop parts; it hands out Parsteel instead, one of the core building resources. Ship XP scales with level, from about 1,100 at level 39 to roughly 6,150 at level 54, so the higher spawns give far more toward your next ship level per kill. If you are chasing parts rather than XP, the level 45 spawn in Misalup is the gentler farm of the two that drop them.

4-star Broken Interceptor Parts Salvage used to build and repair 4-star tier Abfangjäger-Schiffe.
Parsteel A core building resource for station and ship construction (level 39 spawn only).

The Borg in Star Trek

The Borg are a cybernetic collective from the Delta Quadrant that assimilates other species and their technology into a single hive mind linked by a shared consciousness. Assimilated people become drones, their bodies fitted with mechanical implants and stripped of free will. The Collective has no ordinary leader, though the Borg-Königin speaks and acts on its behalf. An Assimilated Federation Scout is what the name says: a small Starfleet scout ship caught by the Borg and rebuilt to serve the hive. In Star Trek Fleet Befehl, these converted vessels appear as roaming hostiles you hunt for their salvage.

Is the Assimilated Federation Scout worth grinding?

This scout earns its place when you need 4-star Broken Interceptor Parts or the ship XP from its higher spawns. As an Interceptor hull it has a clear counter, so an Explorer clears it fast and keeps repair costs low. Farm the level 45 or 54 spawn for parts, or drop to level 39 in Shal’ika if you want Parsteel and an easier fight. Match your warp to the level, bring an Explorer, and clear one system on repeat. Because each level lives in a single system, the scout is easy to camp once you are in range, and respawns come fast enough to keep a farming run steady.
