Doctor, Tailor, Soldier, Spy

Doctor, Tailor, Soldier, Spy is a five-part mission chain that drops you into a Section 31 operation to break a captured Cardassian deserter out of prison, with Bashir and Garak riding along for the trouble. It begins at Kejal and reaches as far out as warp 45 in the first part, so fuel matters here. Across the chain you collect Garak shards early, Damar shards at the end, plus Latinum, Ultra Recruit Tokens, Bajoran Reputation, and a run of speedups and raw materials. The two officer rewards alone make it worth running.

Doctor, Tailor, Soldier, Spy Part 1

The chain opens with a high-profile Cardassian deserter in custody and a source who will only talk face to face. You move from Kejal to Deep Space 9, break up Bashir and Garak’s lunch, then slip out to Axanar for a quiet conversation that runs straight into a bandit problem.

  • Meet with the unidentified source (Kejal)
  • Set a course for Deep Space 9 (Bajor)
  • Interrupt Bashir and Garak’s lunch (Bajor)
  • Find a quiet place to talk (Axanar)
  • Decide how to clear the bandits from the system

Warp to complete: 45. This is the longest reach in the chain by a wide margin, so top off your tank before you leave dock.

The part branches on how you handle the bandits. Both routes hand over Garak shards and 207,000 Officer XP, and only the third reward changes.

Pay the bandits

  • Bribe the bandits with 25M Parsteel (Axanar)

Rewards: Garak shards, 207,000 Officer XP, 732,000 Dilithium.

Intimidate the bandits

  • Defeat 10 hostiles of level 35 or higher in Axanar (Axanar)

Rewards: Garak shards, 207,000 Officer XP, 24,864,000 Parsteel.

Doctor, Tailor, Soldier, Spy Part 2

Bashir reaches out to Section 31, and the meeting goes sideways as soon as you arrive. This part keeps you in one system, so it moves quickly once you are there.

  • Set a course for Sinisser (Sinisser)
  • Meet with Bashir’s contact (Sinisser)
  • Disable the spy vessel (Sinisser), an enemy around 748K in strength
  • Pay 1.4M Tritanium for damages
  • Debrief Bashir’s contact (Sinisser)

Warp to complete: 26.

Rewards: 2,400 Latinum, 3 One Day Assignment Speed Ups, 2,000 3★ Raw Crystal.

Doctor, Tailor, Soldier, Spy Part 3

Now you track down where the Cardassians are holding the prisoner. A hostile jumps you at Irryit before you get a choice about how to reach the prison.

  • Set a course for Irryit (Irryit)
  • Rendezvous with the S31 agent (Irryit)
  • Defend yourself from the Cardassian vessel (Irryit), an enemy around 771K in strength
  • Decide how to reach the prisoner

Warp to complete: 29.

The part branches on your approach. Both routes give 400 Ultra Recruit Tokens and 10 Three Hour Repair Speed Ups, and only the third reward changes.

Infiltrate with Section 31

  • Meet with the Section 31 ship (Celtris)
  • Set a course for Unefra (Unefra)

Rewards: 400 Ultra Recruit Tokens, 10 Three Hour Repair Speed Ups, 14,074,000 Parsteel.

Doctor, Tailor, Soldier, Spy Part 4

This is the prison break itself. You talk your way past a patrol, get Garak and Bashir on the ground, fight off a guard, then pull Durlak out and run for Neethia.

  • Fast-talk the Cardassian patrol (Unefra)
  • Approach the prison (Unefra)
  • Beam Garak and Bashir down to the prison (Unefra)
  • Hold off the guard (Unefra), an enemy around 741K in strength
  • Retrieve the prisoner (Unefra)
  • Get to safety (Neethia)

Warp to complete: 29.

Rewards: 80,000 Ship XP, 2,100 3★ Raw Ore, 3,174,000 Tritanium.

Doctor, Tailor, Soldier, Spy Part 5

The chain closes with a debrief that pulls the first real thread on the Dominion. It is all travel and dialogue, no forced fight, so it wraps up fast.

  • Set a course for Sinisser (Sinisser)
  • Debrief Durlak (Sinisser)
  • Return Bashir and Garak to Deep Space 9 (Bajor)
  • Report back to the Bajoran Resistance (Kejal)

Warp to complete: 26.

Rewards: Damar shards, 2 One Day Peace Shields, 4 Eight Hour Speed Ups, 50 Bajoran Reputation.

Tips for completing Doctor, Tailor, Soldier, Spy

Part 1 is the one to prepare for. Its warp 45 run into Axanar sits far above the rest of the chain, which stays between 26 and 29, so fuel up before you commit. If you take the intimidate route in Part 1, you also fight 10 hostiles at level 35 or higher in Axanar, so bring a ship rated for that.

Three parts include a forced battle: the spy vessel in Part 2, the Cardassian vessel in Part 3, and the prison guard in Part 4, each landing around 740K to 770K in strength. A crew tuned for hostile combat clears them without much drama. Keep some currency in reserve as well, since Part 1’s bribe route asks for 25M Parsteel and Part 2 charges 1.4M Tritanium for damages.

On the branching parts, the payouts differ mainly in raw material. If you are short on Parsteel, the intimidate route in Part 1 and the direct route in Part 3 both pay heavily in it, while the alternatives lean toward Dilithium and Tritanium.

Are the Doctor, Tailor, Soldier, Spy rewards worth it?

Yes, mostly for the crew. You collect Garak shards in Part 1 and Damar shards in Part 5, both worth having, and the chain stacks Latinum, 400 Ultra Recruit Tokens, Bajoran Reputation, and a pile of speedups on top. The raw material payouts flex with your choices, so take the Parsteel branches if that is what you need. For a mid-game chain, the two officer rewards alone justify the fuel and the fights.
