Trouble on the Homefront is a ten-part Deep Space Nine mission chain in Star Trek Fleet Command. It starts as a smuggling run for Quark out of Afritalis, moves to Bajor and a string of pirate attacks, and ends with you defending Deep Space Nine from a mercenary assault. All ten parts are recommended for level 35 and most finish at warp 25, with Part 1 the longest at warp 31. Four parts have choice splits that change the rewards. The chain pays Benjamin Sisko shards across three parts, and the final choice decides between more Sisko, Changeling Kira or Miles O’Brien shards.

Tips for completing Trouble on the Homefront
Travel is steady rather than extreme. Part 1 reaches warp 31 and Part 7 reaches 26; every other part finishes at warp 25, and most of the chain plays out around Bajor.
Enemies sit between roughly 741,000 and 771,000 strength for most of the chain. The exception is Path 3 of Part 10, where the mercenary line is about 910,000 and the command vessel about 938,000. If your ship struggles at 770,000, pick Path 1 or Path 2 for the finale.
Plan the choices around what you need. Part 2’s Path 1 costs 850,000 Dilithium, so only take it if you want the Latinum and Federation Recruit Tokens; Path 2 costs a hostile grind but pays over 27 million Parsteel. In Part 10, Path 1 gives two more Sisko shards, Path 2 gives four Changeling Kira shards and Path 3 gives four Miles O’Brien shards.
Hostile grinds are small: 8 kills in Part 2’s Path 2, 10 kills of level 27 or higher in Part 6 and 9 kills of level 32 or higher in Part 7’s Path 2.
Major Discontent is another Bajor chain, this one built around Major Kira, and the Deep Space Nine arc lists the other chains in this storyline. The Missionsleitfaden covers the rest.
Are the Trouble on the Homefront rewards worth it?
Yes for a level 35 player. You collect Benjamin Sisko shards in Parts 1 and 5 regardless of your choices, and the final part adds a second batch of Sisko or a larger batch of Changeling Kira or Miles O’Brien. Around those, the fixed parts alone hand out 19 million Parsteel, 2,100 Latinum and 800 Ultra Recruit Tokens, and the paths add more Parsteel, Latinum, faction Recruit Tokens and 3★ ship parts on top. The fights are close to one strength band and the warp never climbs past 31, so the effort is fair for the payout.
