The Alliance Recon is a Mirror Universe hostile in Star Trek Fleet Command, found from level 35 to level 70 in mirror space. It comes in two separate bands: a single level 35 spawn in Mirror Cardassia, then a main band from level 45 to 70 at warp 75 to 800. It only ever spawns as an Explorer, which keeps the fight simple: bring a Battleship. Kills in the main band pay Raw Trellium-A and Raw Trellium-D for the mirror arc.

How to beat the Alliance Recon

Every Alliance Recon is an Explorer, no matter the level or system. Schlachtschiffe beat Explorers, so your strongest Battleship is the right ship every time. There is no variant to scan for and nothing to swap between levels; the ship that clears the level 45 spawn is still the correct class at 70, as long as its power keeps pace.

Its two built-in abilities work as a pair. Deadlock hull breaches your ship the moment combat starts and keeps the breach up for the whole fight. Dismantlement and Photophobia then cash in on it: at the start of any round in which your ship is hull breached, the Recon gains 20% weapon damage and 10% Isolytic Damage for that round. Since Deadlock makes the breach permanent, treat both bonuses as always on. You cannot play around the combo, so aim for a quick kill and accept the repair cost rather than trying to outlast it.

For crew, the principle beats any fixed list: a captain whose ability raises weapon damage against hostiles, plus Offiziere that add damage or mitigation. The cadet trio of Cadet Kirk as captain with Cadet Spock and Cadet Uhura can handle the level 35 spawn, but the 45-plus band calls for stronger rosters, so check the officer tier list for current picks. Crews shift with the meta, so treat any named combination as a starting point.

Where to find the Alliance Recon

The Recon patrols Mirror Universe systems. The lone level 35 version sits in Mirror Cardassia at warp 50. The main band opens at level 45 across seven systems at warp 75, then thins out as it climbs: warp 120 reaches the level 48 systems, warp 230 covers the level 58 and 60 spawns, and the level 68 and 70 versions sit behind warp 800. Match your warp range to the table before you plan a grind.

Rewards and what it drops

The main band pays raw Trellium, the Mirror Universe arc’s core material. Raw Trellium-A drops from level 45 up and Raw Trellium-D joins at level 48, with amounts that grow fast as levels climb: 5 to 3,500 Trellium-A and 8 to 4,400 Trellium-D per kill across the band. The level 35 spawn is the exception. It pays 5,000 to 10,000 Parsteel and no Trellium, so it is a mission stop rather than a farm. Ship XP scales hard too, from 703 per kill at level 35 to 51,800 at level 70.

Ablegen What it is
Raw Trellium-A Mirror Universe material for the mirror arc; drops from level 45 up
Raw Trellium-D Second Trellium grade, gathered the same way; drops from level 48 up
Parsteel Basic construction resource; only the level 35 spawn pays it

Alliance Recon firing pattern

The Recon fires a single group of three Energy weapons every round, with a one-round warm-up and a modest crit. There is no burst round to time your mitigation around; damage arrives in a steady stream, which again favors a fast kill over a long tanking plan. The figures below come from the lowest-level record and scale up with level.

Weapon type Count Damage per shot Fires Crit
Energie 3 60,521–73,970 Every round 10% (1.5x)

The Klingon-Cardassian Alliance in Star Trek

The mirror universe entered Star Trek in the original series episode “Mirror, Mirror,” which swapped the Federation for the brutal Terranisches Reich. Deep Space Nine’s “Crossover” returned to that universe decades later to show what followed: after Spock’s reforms weakened the Empire, the Klingons and Cardassians joined forces, crushed it, and enslaved the Terrans. That Klingon-Cardassian Alliance rules mirror space in the era Star Trek Fleet Command draws on, and its patrol ships, the Alliance Recon among them, police the mirror copies of familiar Klingonisch and Cardassian systems.

Is the Alliance Recon worth grinding?

Yes, when the Mirror Universe arc has you collecting Trellium. It may be the easiest Trellium source on the map: one hull type means no variant checking, just a Battleship and a hostile-damage crew on repeat. The 45 to 60 stretch gives you the most systems per warp point, while the 68 and 70 spawns pay the biggest amounts behind a warp 800 wall. Skip the level 35 version unless a mission sends you to Mirror Cardassia, and repair between kills, since Deadlock guarantees hull damage every fight.
