Corsair is a short early mission in Star Trek Fleet Command with a simple brief: destroy the Corsair. It is recommended for level 9, needs warp 5 both to start and to complete, and can be picked up in any of 24 systems. You travel to Fostaa and defeat the Corsair Leader at roughly 1,927 power. The reward is 5 1★ Survey Parts. It is a quick job to clear while you work through the early game.
Corsair objectives
There are two objectives and no choice split:
- Travel to the Fostaa system. Location: Fostaa.
- Defeat the Corsair Leader. Location: Fostaa. Enemy strength is roughly 1,927.
The mission is one trip and one fight. Once the Corsair Leader is destroyed, the mission is done; there is no return step.
Where and what warp
Corsair needs warp 5 to start and warp 5 to complete. The game lists 24 pickup systems for it: Aum, Mackers, Zonu, Somaochu, Flibble, Gobbo, Luheez, Liynuk, Maya, Later, Rozi, Ethjamar, Alannah, Dignam, Tynkar, Yoki Neesh, Luca, Ellijo, Bulut, Dudu, Doraboro, Sohkia, Mari and Una. With that many, most players come across it naturally while exploring nearby systems such as Aum, Zonu or Alannah.
The recommended level is 9. The Corsair Leader at about 1,927 power is a comfortable fight for a ship at that level.
Corsair rewards
| Reward | Amount |
|---|---|
| 1★ Survey Parts | 5 |
The game data lists no next mission unlocked by Corsair.
Five 1★ Survey Parts is a small reward. It is most useful if you are working on an early survey ship; otherwise the mission is mainly worth doing because it takes so little time.
How it compares with other early missions
| Mission | Level | Warp to complete | Fight | Main rewards |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| The Cavalry | 5 | 5 | Slaver ship, about 428 | 1,900 Parsteel, 160 Officer XP |
| Corsair | 9 | 5 | Corsair Leader, about 1,927 | 5 1★ Survey Parts |
| Homefield | 9 | 5 | 5 hostiles of level 8 or higher | 50 Premium Recruit Tokens |
| Paid Debts | 13 | 8 | Prohk’s fleet, about 2,935 | 1,000 Officer XP, 300 Tritanium, 1 Orion Manifest |
Corsair and Homefield share both the level 9 recommendation and the warp 5 requirement. Homefield swaps the named target for five hostiles and pays Premium Recruit Tokens instead of ship parts, so running both gives a mix of rewards for very little effort.
The Corsair Leader is about four and a half times stronger than the Slaver ship in The Cavalry, which makes Corsair a sensible next step once that earlier rescue is done.
Tips
Pick it up when you see it. With 24 pickup systems, the mission is easy to find, and the whole thing takes one trip.
Combine it with Homefield. Both are level 9 and warp 5, so a ship that clears one can clear the other in the same session. Other missions sorted by level are on the mission guide.
