Construct Parsteel Generator B is one of the first station missions in Star Trek Fleet Command. Its only objective is to build your second Parsteel Generator. It needs warp 1 to start and finish, the game lists a recommended level of 1, and there is no combat. The reward is 10 Tritanium, and completing it unlocks Upgrade Parsteel Warehouse to Level 2. The payout is tiny, but a second Parsteel source matters far more than the reward at this stage.
Construct Parsteel Generator B objectives
The story line tells you to upgrade the Parsteel Generators to produce more Parsteel, the alloy used mainly to build up the Station. There is a single objective and no choice split:
- Construct Parsteel Generator B.
No system, hostile or donation is involved. The mission completes once the generator is placed and built.
Where and what warp
Warp 1 to start and warp 1 to complete, with no pickup system. Everything happens on your station.
The recommended level is 1. Current building data places Parsteel Generator B behind two requirements: Operations level 2 and Parsteel Generator A level 1. A brand new station meets both almost immediately.
Construct Parsteel Generator B rewards
The only reward is 10 Tritanium. Completing the mission also unlocks the next station mission, Upgrade Parsteel Warehouse to Level 2.
What Parsteel Generator B produces
Parsteel is the resource the station runs on at this stage; nearly every early upgrade is paid in it. The building data lists these values for Parsteel Generator B in its first levels:
| Level | Parsteel per hour | Parsteel storage |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | 90 | 45 |
| 2 | 190 | 285 |
| 3 | 290 | 580 |
| 4 | 395 | 1,190 |
| 5 | 495 | 1,975 |
The storage figure is how much the generator holds before you need to collect. At level 1 it fills fast, so early on it pays to tap it often or upgrade it quickly. Generator B also feeds straight into the Operations path: the Operations level 4 upgrade requires Parsteel Generator B at level 2.
How it compares with other construction missions
Each new building in the early station has a matching construction mission. Their rewards vary widely:
| Mission | Reward |
|---|---|
| Construct Parsteel Generator B | 10 Tritanium |
| Construct the R&D Department | 25 Tritanium |
| Construct Tritanium Generator A | 55 Tritanium, 1 × 1 Minute Repair Speed Up |
| Construct the Tritanium Warehouse | 65 Tritanium, 1 × 1 Minute Repair Speed Up |
| Construct Tritanium Generator B | 140 Tritanium, 2 × 1 Minute Repair Speed Up |
| Construct Dilithium Generator A | 440 Tritanium, 12 × 1 Minute Repair Speed Up |
Generator B pays the least of the group because it comes the earliest.
Tips
Build it the moment it unlocks. A second generator is the cheapest way to speed up the whole opening of the game, since every early upgrade costs Parsteel.
Push it to level 2 soon after. The Upgrade Parsteel Generator B to Level 2 mission pays for that step, and Upgrade Operations to Level 4 cannot be finished without it.
Collect often while storage is small. With 45 Parsteel of storage and 90 Parsteel per hour at level 1, the generator is full about 30 minutes after you last collected. The other generators and their unlocks are covered on the Parsteel Generators page, and more missions are on the mission guide.
