Conflict of Interest

Conflict of Interest is an early Star Trek Fleet Command mission, recommended for level 5, in which you steal Federation intel on the Derelicts for the Romulans. It starts at warp 1 and needs warp 5 to finish, and the action is in the Aoro system: find a secret Federation base, defeat its security ship and bring the data home. The reward is 3,800 Parsteel, and it unlocks the next part of the chain. It is a short, low-risk fight for a new account.

Conflict of Interest objectives

There are three objectives and no choice split:

  • Find the secret Federation base. Location: Aoro.
  • Defeat the Independent Security Ship. Location: Aoro. Enemy strength is roughly 473.
  • Return the data to your station.

The first two steps both happen in Aoro. Once you find the base, the Independent Security Ship is the only thing guarding it, and at roughly 473 strength it is a light fight. The last step brings the stolen data back to your station.

With no branch, everyone gets the same objectives and the same reward.

Where and what warp

Warp is 1 to start and 5 to complete. Aoro is the only system named in the mission, so warp 5 is what you need to reach it. The mission is a single trip: out to Aoro and back home.

The recommended level is 5, and the 473-strength security ship is in line with that.

Conflict of Interest rewards

The only reward is 3,800 Parsteel. Completing the mission also unlocks the next part of the chain.

Early warp 5 missions compared

Several early missions finish at warp 5. Of the four below, Conflict of Interest is the only one built around a single named fight.

Mission Recommended level Warp to complete Combat Main reward
Conflict of Interest 5 5 Independent Security Ship, about 473 3,800 Parsteel
To the Edge of the Universe 4 5 None 110 Tritanium
Takret Incursion 6 5 6 hostiles of level 6 or higher 1,250 to 1,750 Parsteel plus Battleship Parts
Malurian Tritanium 8 5 None 2,400 Parsteel, 2 K’Bisch shards

Among these, Conflict of Interest pays the most Parsteel. Malurian Tritanium is the only one that adds officer shards.

Tips

Send a combat ship, even an early one. The Independent Security Ship is only about 473 strength, but it is still a fight, and a mining ship is the wrong tool for it.

Run it in one trip. Both Aoro objectives come back to back, so fly out, clear the base and the ship, and return home with the data.

At level 5, 3,800 Parsteel is a useful sum for early station upgrades. Every other mission, sorted by level, is on the mission guide.
