Combat Training 53: Soldier

Combat Training 53: Soldier is the middle step of the level 53 Combat Training missions in Star Trek Fleet Command. Its single objective is to defeat 5 level 53 hostiles, and it needs only warp 1 because no system is named. Unlike the early Combat Training steps, it shows a recommended level of 53, matching the hostiles you have to beat. The reward is 1,000,000,000 Dilithium and 2,400 Ultra Recruit Tokens.

Combat Training 53: Soldier objectives

There is one objective and no choice split:

  • Defeat 5 Level 53 hostiles.

The story line is the one every Combat Training mission shares: test your skills in battle against escalating difficulties of hostile enemies. At level 53 the Soldier step asks for five kills, and the hostiles must be level 53.

Where and what warp

Warp 1 to start and warp 1 to complete, with no pickup system. The warp figure says nothing about the difficulty. What matters is whether your ship can reach systems with level 53 hostiles and beat five of them.

The recommended level is 53. That matches the hostile level in the objective, so this is a mission for players who are already fighting at level 53.

Combat Training 53: Soldier rewards

Reward Amount
Dilithium 1,000,000,000
Ultra Recruit Token 2,400

Completing the mission also unlocks the next Combat Training step.

How the late Combat Training steps pay

From level 53 upward, the Combat Training missions in the game data pay two things only: a large Dilithium sum and 2,400 Ultra Recruit Tokens. Current values:

Mission Objective Dilithium
Combat Training 53: Soldier Defeat 5 level 53 hostiles 1,000,000,000
Combat Training 55: Rookie Defeat 3 level 55 hostiles 720,000,000
Combat Training 57: Soldier Defeat 5 level 57 hostiles 2,120,000,000
Combat Training 59: Soldier Defeat 5 level 59 hostiles 3,000,000,000

Each of these pays the same 2,400 Ultra Recruit Tokens. Before level 53, the Combat Training missions paid officer shards and smaller Dilithium amounts. Combat Training 50: Rookie, for example, pays 36.6 million Dilithium and 8 Gorkon shards.

Tips

Fold the kills into your normal hunting. Five level 53 hostiles is a short job for a ship that fights at that level every day, and nothing ties the kills to one system.

Put the Dilithium to work quickly. A billion Dilithium goes a long way on late research and building costs, which run into billions at this stage.

Compare the reward with the fight. Combat Training 55: Veteran pays 2.16 billion Dilithium for a single hostile captain at about 25.6 million strength, so the payouts in this range grow quickly as the levels rise.

Use the Ultra Recruit Tokens on recruit pulls for officers you are still building up.

Run the full level 53 set. The previous step is Combat Training 53: Rookie, and the next is Combat Training 53: Veteran. The full series is on the Combat Training missions page.
