Combat Training 11: Rookie is the first step of the Combat Training 11 set in Star Trek Fleet Command. The goal is to test your skills against hostiles of escalating difficulty, and the only objective is to defeat one hostile of level 11 or higher. It needs only warp 1 to start and finish, and the game lists a recommended level of 1. The reward is 320 Dilithium and one K’Bisch shard, and finishing it unlocks Combat Training 11: Soldier. It is one of the quickest missions you can clear.

Combat Training 11: Rookie objectives

There is a single objective and no choice split:

  • Defeat a hostile of Level 11 or higher.

No system is named. Any hostile of level 11 or above counts, wherever you find it, and one kill completes the mission.

Where and what warp

Warp 1 to start and warp 1 to complete, with no pickup system.

The recommended level is listed as 1. The only real requirement is a ship that can beat a level 11 hostile once.

The Combat Training 11 set compared

Combat Training 11 comes in Rookie, Soldier and Veteran steps, and all three pay K’Bisch shards. Current game data:

Mission Objective Rewards
Combat Training 11: Rookie Defeat a hostile of level 11 or higher 320 Dilithium, 1 K’Bisch shard
Combat Training 11: Soldier Defeat 5 hostiles of level 11 or higher 480 Dilithium, 4,500 Officer XP, 2 K’Bisch shards
Combat Training 11: Veteran Defeat the hostile captain, about 2,905 800 Dilithium, 10 × 15 Minute Speed Up, 2 K’Bisch shards

Across the set you collect five K’Bisch shards and 1,600 Dilithium. Rookie pays the least, but it is also the fastest: one kill against Soldier’s five and Veteran’s scripted captain.

Coming from Combat Training 10

The mission before this one is Combat Training 10: Veteran, which ends the Helvia set with a captain of about 2,334 strength and pays 600 Dilithium, eight 15 Minute Speed Ups and two Helvia shards. Stepping into Combat Training 11, the officer changes to K’Bisch and the hostile level floor rises from 10 to 11.

The Dilithium climbs with each set. Combat Training 10: Soldier pays 360 Dilithium; Combat Training 11: Soldier pays 480.

Tips

Clear it on your way past. Any level 11 or higher hostile counts, so the kill can come from whatever you are already fighting.

Run the whole set back to back. The K’Bisch shards only reach five if you finish Soldier and Veteran as well, and the Veteran captain at about 2,905 is still a light fight.
