Cat and Mouse is a five-part mission chain that has you host a Mari delegation, help them build a device and then sit in on negotiations between the Devore and the Mari. It is picked up in Eviloy, and Part 1 needs warp 25 to start. All parts are recommended for level 50, and warp to complete runs from 58 to 205. The chain pays a B’Elanna Torres shard in Part 1 and a The Doctor shard in Part 5 on either side of the final choice, with 648 million Parsteel in Part 3.

Part 1 is picked up in Eviloy at warp 25. Parts 2 to 5 start at warp 1, and finishing one part opens the next.
Cat and Mouse Part 1
You meet the Mari delegation after reaching the entry system in Kalak. A small welcome present is expected, and you show them the planet chosen for device production in Dijor’joh.

The colony has to be ready for construction. You escort the Mari to the mining grounds in Neken and mine for them, follow a distress signal to New Talax and return to protect Ambassador Irrilin.

The Mari want to guarantee their safety. You follow them to a trading station in Sadell, prove your allegiance with a donation and report to Captain Turuch in Eviloy.

You inspect the device in Dijor’joh, where an unidentified ship is waiting, then take a request from Captain Turuch for shield resources.

- Destroy an unidentified ship, in the Dijor’joh system (enemy strength ~15,761,293).
- Return to Captain Turuch, in the Eviloy system.
- Donate 5K G5 Raw Crystal for the shields.
- Return to the ambassador, in the Sadell system.

With the device built, you pick it up in Dijor’joh and open the negotiations in Eviloy. Then you have to choose a side.

Tips for completing Cat and Mouse
This chain asks for resources in almost every part: 200K Dilithium in Part 1, 5K G5 Raw Ore to mine in Part 2, 25M Tritanium in Part 3, 5K G5 Raw Crystal in Part 4 and 100K Dilithium in Part 5. The grade 5 ore and crystal are the ones to plan for.
Part 2 is the longest trip at warp 205. It also has the fight to protect Ambassador Irrilin (about 15.2 million strength). The only other named fight with a listed strength is the unidentified ship in Part 4 (about 15.8 million).
In Part 5, supporting Turuch adds a fight against the Mari ship and pays 5,000,000 Dilithium and 127,000 4★ Raw Ore. Supporting Irrilin avoids that fight and pays 100,000 Officer XP and 167,000 4★ Raw Crystal.
