Academy Level 43 is a station-building mission in Star Trek Fleet Command. Its only objective is to upgrade your Academy to level 43. The recommended level is 1, it needs warp 1 to start and to complete, and it pays 900 Ultra Recruit Tokens. There is no travel and no fight. The mission is a bonus for an upgrade you would make anyway, but the upgrade itself is expensive, so the prep is where the effort goes.
Academy Level 43 objectives
There is a single objective and no choice split:
- Upgrade to Academy Level 43.
The objective completes when the Academy reaches level 43. The Academy is the building where your officers stay when they are not assigned, and where you promote and level them through the Officer screen.
What the level 43 upgrade needs
The mission asks for nothing beyond the upgrade, but the upgrade has a large bill. In the current building data, Academy level 43 costs:

The only building requirement is Operations 43. These are base costs from the building data. For context, level 42 asks for 13.07 billion Parsteel, 6,000 4★ Uncommon Refined Ore and 1,500 4★ Rare Refined Ore, with Operations 42 and Scrapyard 15 as requirements, and level 44 asks for 28 billion Parsteel, 30,000 4★ Uncommon Refined Ore and 3,000 4★ Rare Refined Ore, with Operations 44 and Scrapyard 20.
Level 43 is the one step in that stretch that uses 4★ Common Refined Ore instead of Rare, and it needs no Scrapyard level at all.
Where and what warp
This mission happens entirely at your station. It needs warp 1 to start and warp 1 to complete, and no system is involved. The recommended level is 1.

Where it sits in the building missions
Academy Level 43 is one mission in a run of building upgrade missions. The one before it is Ship Hangar Level 42, and the one after it is R&D Department Level 43. The Operations 43 upgrade that Academy 43 requires has its own mission, Operations 43, which pays 80 each of 4★ Uncommon Refined Ore, Crystal and Gas.
Tips
Stockpile 4★ Common Refined Ore early. At 78,500 it is the unusual line on this upgrade, since the levels either side ask for Rare Refined Ore instead.
Parsteel is the bulk of the cost at about 18.67 billion. If you are short, that is what holds the upgrade back, and it is the figure to plan around.
The upgrade also raises the Academy’s Officer Stats Bonus, which in the building data increases the Attack, Defense and Health of all your officers with each Academy level. The Ultra Recruit Tokens from the mission are on top of that.
