Upgrade Operations to Level 21

Upgrade Operations to Level 21 is a station-building mission in Star Trek Fleet Command. It has one objective, raising your Operations building to level 21, and it needs no travel at all: the data lists warp 1 to start and warp 1 to complete, with a recommended level of 1. The reward is 50,000 Tritanium and two 10 Minute Repair Speed Ups. It is a free claim for an upgrade you are going to make anyway, and finishing it moves you on to the Shipyard level 21 mission.

Upgrade Operations to Level 21 objectives

The mission text describes Operations as the building that houses the command center and the station’s main computer. There is a single objective and no choice split:

  • Upgrade Operations to Level 21.

No ship leaves dock, nothing is donated and nothing is fought. The objective clears when Operations reaches level 21, so the mission works as a tracker attached to your station progress.

Where and what warp

Everything happens at your station. There is no pickup system and no destination, and both warp values are 1. The recommended level is listed as 1; the real requirement is whatever the Operations level 21 upgrade itself asks for.

Upgrade Operations to Level 21 rewards

Reward Amount
Tritanium 50,000
10 Minute Repair Speed Up 2

Completing it also unlocks the next station mission in the sequence, Upgrade the Shipyard: Level 21. The mission before it is Upgrade Drydock A to Level 20.

How the Operations missions compare around level 21

Each Operations level from this range has its own mission, and they all share the same shape: one upgrade, warp 1, a Tritanium reward and a pair of repair speed ups. What changes is the size of the Tritanium reward, which climbs steeply.

Mission Tritanium Repair speed ups
Upgrade Operations to Level 19 9,000 2 × 5 Minute
Upgrade Operations to Level 20 35,000 2 × 10 Minute
Upgrade Operations to Level 21 50,000 2 × 10 Minute
Upgrade Operations to Level 22 100,000 2 × 10 Minute
Upgrade Operations to Level 24 350,000 2 × 10 Minute

The level 21 mission pays about 43% more Tritanium than the level 20 one, and the level 22 mission doubles it again. By level 24 the reward is seven times what level 21 pays. The repair speed ups step up once, from 5 minutes to 10 minutes at level 20, and then hold steady through level 24.

Tips

Claim it as soon as the upgrade finishes. With no travel and no combat, the only thing between you and the reward is collecting it, and the Tritanium can go straight into the next build.

Hold the two repair speed ups for a ship coming back from a hard fight rather than using them on minor damage. Ten minutes each is small, but it adds up when a combat ship is waiting in dock.

Follow the station missions in order. This one sits between the Drydock A level 20 mission and the Shipyard level 21 mission, and the next Operations target, level 22, pays twice the Tritanium. For missions that send your ships out into the galaxy, see the mission guide.
