Two Sides of the Coin is a Borg storyline mission in Star Trek Fleet Command where you try to rally the factions against the Borg. You talk to the Romulans in Sufiday, fight a Romulan Officer at roughly 347,055 strength, then appeal to Starfleet in Doska. It needs warp 19 to finish and the game lists a recommended level of 1. The reward is 866,000 Parsteel plus a 1M Parsteel Token.
Two Sides of the Coin objectives
There are four objectives and no choice split:
- Speak with the Romulans. Location: Sufiday.
- Defeat Romulan Officer. Location: Sufiday. Enemy strength is roughly 347,055.
- Appeal to Starfleet. Location: Doska.
- Return to your Station.
The two sides in the title are the Romulans and Starfleet. The Romulan half goes badly: you arrive in Sufiday to talk and end up fighting a Romulan Officer. The Starfleet half is a visit to Doska with no fight attached. Then you head home and the mission completes.
There is no donation step anywhere in the mission. Apart from travel time, the only thing it costs you is whatever repairs the Romulan fight leaves behind, which makes the Parsteel reward close to pure profit.
Where and what warp
There is no pickup system, and the mission becomes available at warp 1. Completing it takes warp 19. Sufiday sits in Romulan space and Doska in Federation space, so the route crosses from one faction’s territory to the other.
The recommended level is listed as 1. The Romulan Officer at about 347,055 strength is the real check, together with the warp 19 range.

Together that comes to 1,866,000 Parsteel once you use the token. Completing the mission also unlocks the next mission in the chain, Perception and Reality.

Two Sides of the Coin follows Unflinching. The two missions sit only one warp apart, so the ship that finished Unflinching can almost always make this trip too.

Unflinching pays in parts and refined gas, while this mission is a straight Parsteel payout. If you are saving for a big building upgrade, this is the more useful of the two.
Tips
Go in with a combat ship. The Romulan Officer is the only fight in the mission, but at around 347,055 it will beat a mining ship or an under-upgraded hull. It comes straight after you speak with the Romulans, so arrive in Sufiday ready to fight.
Repair before the appeal to Starfleet only if you need to. Doska has no hostile listed, so you can fly there on a damaged hull and repair when you return home at the end.
