Twists and Turns is a short story mission in Star Trek Fleet Command that sends you after a mercenary’s coordinates in the Livi system. You follow the trail, search an abandoned outpost, and destroy a Suliban Hunter before carrying the recovered data back to your station. Clear all four objectives and you earn 500 4★ Common Explorer Parts, and the next mission in the storyline opens up.
Twists and Turns objectives
The mission runs four objectives in order, and the first three all play out in the Livi system:
- Follow the coordinates in Livi.
- Investigate the abandoned outpost in Livi.
- Defeat the Suliban Hunter in Livi, a combat target with roughly 1.1 million ship strength.
- Return the data to your station to finish the mission.
The first two steps are travel objectives, so the only fight on the board is the Suliban Hunter in step three. Once it is down, the last step just sends your ship home. Twists and Turns is an auto-continuation mission, so each objective flows into the next without much setup between them, and the two travel steps cost you warp time rather than a fight.
Where and what warp
Every objective sits in Livi, which is neutral space. The mission asks for a warp range of 56 to reach it, so this is a long haul from the early core systems. Before you start, confirm your ship has the warp range to make the jump, or plan a stop at a closer system so you can refuel and continue. Because the three active objectives share the same destination, you only need to travel out to Livi once and can work through them back to back.
Twists and Turns rewards
Completing the mission pays 500 4★ Common Explorer Parts, which go toward tiering up your Explorer-class ships. A batch of 500 is a solid chunk toward an early Explorer tier, so the payout lands well if you are still building out that hull line. Twists and Turns is a continuation mission in a longer storyline, so finishing it also unlocks the next mission, Behind the Mask. It picks up from the earlier mission What Are You Hiding?, so you will normally reach it already mid-arc rather than starting it cold.
Tips
The Suliban Hunter is the only obstacle worth preparing for. At about 1.1 million strength it will wear down an under-tiered or poorly crewed ship, so bring a combat-ready vessel and a crew suited to the fight rather than whatever you last had docked. Check the target before you engage so your ship class holds the advantage in the matchup.
Warp is the other thing to plan around. A required range of 56 puts Livi well outside the starter cluster, and getting stranded halfway costs you time more than resources. If your current ship cannot reach it in one jump, swap to one with a longer range or hop to an intermediate system first. Since the whole mission resolves in Livi, the trip out is the biggest time cost; once you arrive, the objectives close quickly and the data run home is automatic.
