The Student is a late-game Star Trek Fleet Command mission where you evacuate as many civilians as possible from a war zone. It is picked up in Veisa and needs warp 120 both to start and to complete. You ferry civilians to a safe zone in Romashki twice and defeat a Romulan Officer on the way. The reward is 320 Romulan Recruit Tokens, 600 Romulan Credits and 448,000 Romulan Points, with losses of Federation and Klingon Points.
The Student objectives
There are five objectives in a fixed order and no choice split:
- Evacuate civilians from the war zone. Location: Veisa.
- Bring the civilians to a safe zone. Location: Romashki.
- Gather more civilians for evacuation. Location: Naalur.
- Defeat the Romulan Officer. Location: Naalur. Enemy strength is about 5,773,328.
- Bring the rest of the civilians to the safe zone. Location: Romashki.
The mission runs as two evacuation trips. The first takes civilians from Veisa to Romashki. The second collects more in Naalur, where the Romulan Officer has to be beaten before you can bring them back to the same safe zone.
Where and what warp
The Student is picked up in Veisa and needs warp 120 to start and to complete, so there is no short first leg. Veisa, Romashki and Naalur are the three systems.
The game lists a recommended level of 1, which does not reflect the mission. Warp 120 and a Romulan Officer at about 5.8 million strength are the real requirements.

In the Open keeps the warp 120 range and raises the fight by about 600,000 strength. It trades the Recruit Tokens for a large Tritanium payout and does not take any Klingon Points.
Tips
Check your warp range first. Every leg of this mission needs a ship rated for warp 120, including the pickup in Veisa.
Bring your strongest combat ship to Naalur. The Romulan Officer is the only fight, but at about 5.8 million strength it is a serious one, so go in fully repaired.
Weigh the faction change before you accept. You gain 448,000 Romulan Points and lose 483,840 Federation Points and 322,560 Klingon Points in one go.
