Silence Bought is a short mission in Star Trek Fleet Command in which Parlok needs help silencing some Nausicaan informants. It is picked up in Nausicaa, needs warp 8 to start and to complete, and has a recommended level of 14. You find the informants, disable their ship at roughly 3,012 strength, and decide what to do with them. Both paths pay 1,500 Tritanium and an Orion Manifest; one adds 3,000 Parsteel, the other a Lucia Gonzales shard.
Silence Bought objectives
Everyone starts with the same three steps:
- Find the Informants. Location: Nausicaa.
- Disable the Informants’ ship. Location: Nausicaa. Enemy strength is roughly 3,012.
- Decide what to do with the Informants.
The third step is a choice split, where the informants plead with you to let them go. Both paths then have a single step: return to Parlok in Nausicaa.
Path 1
- Return to Parlok. Location: Nausicaa.
Rewards: 3,000 Parsteel, 1,500 Tritanium and 1 Orion Manifest.
Path 2
- Return to Parlok. Location: Nausicaa.
Rewards: 1 Lucia Gonzales shard, 1,500 Tritanium and 1 Orion Manifest.
Where and what warp
Silence Bought is picked up in Nausicaa, and every step happens there too. It needs warp 8 both to start and to complete.
The recommended level is 14. The informants’ ship at roughly 3,012 strength is the only fight.
Silence Bought rewards
| Reward | Path 1 | Path 2 |
|---|---|---|
| Parsteel | 3,000 | None |
| Lucia Gonzales shards | None | 1 |
| Tritanium | 1,500 | 1,500 |
| Orion Manifest | 1 | 1 |
The game data lists no follow-up mission unlocked by Silence Bought.
How it compares with similar pickup missions
Silence Bought is one of several missions picked up in a specific system that pay a special item alongside resources. Current game data:
| Mission | Pickup | Level | Warp | Special item |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| On The Run | Tellun | 7 | 5 | 1 Encryption Key |
| Silence Bought | Nausicaa | 14 | 8 | 1 Orion Manifest |
| Triggered | Rator | 1 | 20 to 38 | 1 Encryption Key |
Silence Bought is the only one of the three with a choice, and the only one that can pay an officer shard.
Which path to choose
The Tritanium and the Orion Manifest are the same either way, so it comes down to 3,000 Parsteel or one Lucia Gonzales shard. In the game data Lucia Gonzales is an Uncommon officer whose captain ability, Solution Finder, adds 0.08 to critical chance against hostiles, and whose officer ability, Problem Solver, adds critical hit damage against hostiles. If you are collecting her for hostile grinding, Path 2 is the pick. Otherwise the Parsteel is the more immediately useful reward.
Tips
Bring a combat ship. The informants’ ship is weak at roughly 3,012 strength, but a mining ship will still struggle.
Everything happens in Nausicaa, so the mission is one short trip. Other missions sorted by level are on the mission guide.
