Shipyard Level 46

Shipyard Level 46 is a late station mission in Star Trek Fleet Command. The one objective is to upgrade your Shipyard to level 46. It runs at warp 1 from start to finish and the game lists a recommended level of 1, so the upgrade is the whole requirement. The reward is 9 each of 4★ Rare Interceptor, Explorer, Battleship and Survey Parts, and completing it unlocks Drydock A Level 46. This is the point where the Shipyard missions move from Uncommon to Rare parts.

Shipyard Level 46 objectives

One objective, with no choice split:

  • Upgrade to Shipyard Level 46.

No system, hostile or donation is involved. The mission completes when the Shipyard reaches level 46.

Where and what warp

Warp 1 to start and warp 1 to complete, with no pickup system. Everything happens on your station.

The recommended level is listed as 1, but the mission only completes once Shipyard 46 is built, so that upgrade is the real gate.

Shipyard Level 46 rewards

Reward Amount
4★ Rare Interceptor Parts 9
4★ Rare Explorer Parts 9
4★ Rare Battleship Parts 9

Completing it unlocks the next station mission, Drydock A Level 46.

How Shipyard 46 compares with other Shipyard missions

Current game data for the Shipyard missions in the forties with published guides:

Mission Parts per hull type Part grade
Shipyard Level 42 60 4★ Uncommon
Shipyard Level 43 80 4★ Uncommon
Shipyard Level 44 90 4★ Uncommon
Shipyard Level 46 9 4★ Rare
Shipyard Level 49 15 4★ Rare

The part count drops sharply at level 46, where the grade goes up from Uncommon to Rare. Level 49 raises it again to 15 per hull type.

What the Shipyard gives you at this stage

The Shipyard raises ship construction speed and tier up speed with each level. Current game data puts both bonuses at 137% at level 45 and 170% at level 50.

For a sense of scale, the level 45 upgrade costs 195M Tritanium, 23.87B Parsteel, 10,000 4★ Uncommon Refined Crystal and 5,000 4★ Rare Refined Crystal, with an unboosted build time of 310 days and 23 hours, and requires Operations 45 and R&D Department 45. By level 50, the cost is 1.837B Tritanium and 224.9B Parsteel, and a research requirement joins the Operations and R&D Department 50 requirements.

The R&D Department missions in this stretch pay a different kind of reward: Level 44 pays 50 100K Dilithium Tokens, Level 45 pays 70 and Level 46 pays 80, each with sixty 8 Hour Speed Ups.

Tips

Check the Drydock A requirement next. The station line moves straight on to Drydock A Level 46 once this mission clears.

Save the Rare parts for the ship you push hardest. Nine of each type is a small number, so they go furthest on a single hull rather than spread around.

Keep an eye on the station line. The mission before this one, R&D Department Level 46, pays 80 100K Dilithium Tokens and 60 8 Hour Speed Ups, and those speed ups are well spent on a Shipyard build this long.
