Plantsitting is a Star Trek Fleet Command mission about an infestation a botanist cannot clear alone. You pick it up in Talora, and everything after that happens in Rek’Sgar: reach the lab, destroy the vessel the spores arrived on, look the lab over, then pay 50M Parsteel to isolate what is left. Warp 185 finishes it, and the payout is 751.8M Parsteel and 113.4M Tritanium.

Plantsitting objectives

Four steps, in this order, with no branch anywhere in them.

  • Go to the botany lab, in Rek’Sgar.
  • Defeat the infested vessel, also in Rek’Sgar. Enemy strength sits around 9,527,000.
  • Investigate the lab, back at the same site.
  • Donate 50M Parsteel to isolate the spores.

There is no choice split here, so nobody has to weigh one path against another or worry about locking themselves out of a reward. The only stop-and-think moment is the donation, and it lands last. Everything ahead of it is travel, one fight, and a search of the lab.

Where and what warp

Talora is the pickup, and warp 160 reaches it. Completing the mission takes warp 185, which is the number to check before you accept anything. Those 25 warp are the whole gap between starting Plantsitting and being able to finish it.

Once you are in Rek’Sgar the geography stops mattering. All three field objectives sit in that one system, so there is no ferrying back and forth between the lab, the fight, and the follow-up. Park there, work through the list, and the only thing left is the Parsteel.

Plantsitting rewards

Finishing pays 751,800,000 Parsteel and 113,400,000 Tritanium. The 50M Parsteel donation comes out of your own stock along the way, so the net gain is roughly 701.8M Parsteel, and the entry cost works out to under 7% of what comes back. Completing this part also opens the next part of the chain.

Both resources feed base construction and upgrades, and a payout this size covers a meaningful chunk of a build queue at the point in the game where warp 185 is realistic. The Tritanium is the scarcer half of it for most players, since Parsteel tends to accumulate faster from mining and hostile clearing.

Tips

Bank the 50M Parsteel before you start. The donation is the final objective, so being short will not strand you mid-mission, but it will park a finished walkthrough one click from its reward while you go mine. Check your balance at pickup instead of at the end.

The infested vessel is the one filter on this mission. Roughly 9.5 million enemy strength is the whole combat requirement, so a ship comfortably above that number turns the middle of Plantsitting into a formality. Bring something you would not hesitate to send at a hostile of that size.

Confirm warp 185 before accepting, not after. A ship that gets you to Talora at warp 160 is not automatically a ship that finishes the job, and swapping vessels partway through wastes a trip that a warp check at the start would have prevented.

Run it in one sitting. The mission concentrates every objective into a single system and asks for one resource payment, so there is no reason to break it up. Fly out with the Parsteel already banked and a ship that clears the fight, and it closes in a single visit to Rek’Sgar.
