Overhaul asks for one thing: upgrade a Grade 3 ship to Tier 2. There is no system to fly to and no enemy to shoot. Finish the upgrade and the mission pays out 250,000 Parsteel and opens The Secret Cabal, the next mission in the same sequence.

Overhaul objectives

The mission has a single objective, and it clears the moment the shipyard finishes the job.

  • Upgrade a Grade 3 ship to Tier 2.

Any Grade 3 ship in your dock counts. The requirement is the grade and the tier, not a particular hull, so you can point it at whichever Grade 3 ship you were already planning to invest in. There is no branch or dilemma here, so nothing needs weighing up before you start.

Ship tier is separate from ship level. Level comes from the experience a ship earns while it is out flying. Tier comes from you spending resources and ship parts at the shipyard to rebuild the hull, and it is what lifts the ship’s base stats. Tier 2 is the first of those rebuilds, so it is cheap next to what the same ship costs at higher tiers.

Where and what warp

Overhaul sits at warp 1 to pick up and warp 1 to complete, which is the game’s way of saying you never leave home. It lists no pickup system and no destination, so nothing about it depends on your warp range or on having a ship parked in the right corner of the map. If your shipyard is free, you can run it from a standing start.

Overhaul rewards

Completing Overhaul pays 250,000 Parsteel.

It also unlocks The Secret Cabal. That is chain progression rather than loot, but worth knowing if you are working through the sequence in order.

For an early account, 250,000 Parsteel covers a real slice of a building upgrade rather than being pocket change, and it lands without you flying anywhere to earn it.

Tips

Check the tier-up cost in the shipyard before you commit. Taking a Grade 3 hull to Tier 2 needs ship parts for that specific ship on top of the resource bill, and parts are usually the piece players are short on. If the ship you want to push is missing parts, look at your other Grade 3 hulls first, because the mission does not care which one you use.

Time it around a build you were going to do anyway. The objective is a normal shipyard upgrade, so none of the effort is wasted: you keep the stronger ship whether the mission existed or not, and the Parsteel is a straight bonus on top.

Queue it alongside travel-heavy missions. Overhaul costs no warp and no flight time, so it sits quietly in your log while your ships are busy elsewhere. Nothing is on a timer and nothing needs defending.

Put the Parsteel into infrastructure rather than letting it sit. Parsteel is what early accounts burn fastest on building upgrades, and a payout this size is easier to justify against something that raises your production or storage than against a one-off purchase.
