Live Cargo is a Federation spy-retrieval mission in Star Trek Fleet Command. You disguise your ship as a supply vessel, slip up to a Klingon border outpost at Khitomer and bring a Starfleet spy out to P’Jem. It is picked up in Gemet, needs warp 18 to start and warp 20 to complete, and splits into a quiet smuggling route or a fight with the Klingon guard patrol. Either way you earn Federation Credits and Federation Points, and the choice decides whether the bonus is recruit tokens or speed ups.
Live Cargo objectives
The mission opens with one shared step, then asks how you want to get past the border patrol:
- Go to the outpost on the edge of the Klingon neutral zone. Location: Khitomer.
- Decide how to get past the border patrol.
You can show forged transport papers and smuggle the spy through, or disable the border control by force. The two paths differ in one step and one reward.
Path 1: show your forged transport papers
- Smuggle the spy aboard and take her safely to P’Jem. Location: P’Jem.
Rewards on this path: 225 Premium Recruit Tokens, 150 Federation Credits, 3,100 Federation Points, -2,902 Klingon Points, -645 Romulan Points and 1 Cargo Container.
Path 2: disable the border control
- Disable the Klingon guard patrol. Location: Khitomer (enemy strength about 101,520).
- Take the spy to P’Jem. Location: P’Jem.
Rewards on this path: 10 3 Hour Speed Ups, 150 Federation Credits, 3,100 Federation Points, -2,902 Klingon Points, -645 Romulan Points and 1 Cargo Container.
Where and what warp
You accept Live Cargo in Gemet. The first objective takes you to Khitomer on the edge of the Klingon neutral zone, and the mission ends at P’Jem. Warp 18 is enough to start, but you need warp 20 to complete it, so check your range before you commit to the run.
The game lists a recommended level of 1. The warp requirement, and on Path 2 a patrol listed at around 101,520 strength, matter far more than that number when judging whether you are ready.
Live Cargo rewards
| Reward | Path 1 (smuggle) | Path 2 (disable patrol) |
|---|---|---|
| Premium Recruit Token | 225 | none |
| 3 Hour Speed Up | none | 10 |
| Federation Credits | 150 | 150 |
| Federation Points | 3,100 | 3,100 |
| Klingon Points | -2,902 | -2,902 |
| Romulan Points | -645 | -645 |
| Cargo Container | 1 | 1 |
The reputation changes are the same on both paths. You gain Federation Points and lose Klingon and Romulan Points whichever way you go.
Tips
Choose your path by what you need. Path 1 skips the fight entirely and pays 225 Premium Recruit Tokens. Path 2 adds a combat step at Khitomer but pays ten 3 Hour Speed Ups, which is 30 hours of timer reduction for building or research.
If your ship is not ready for a fight at around 101,520 strength, the smuggling route is the safe pick, and it is also one objective shorter.
Plan for warp 20, not 18. The completion range is two higher than the pickup range, so a ship that can only just reach Gemet may not be able to finish.
If you are building Klingon or Romulan reputation, note the deductions before you accept; neither path avoids them. For other Federation missions and missions sorted by level, see the STFC mission guide.
