Greed Begets Greed is a Federation mission in Star Trek Fleet Command where you confront an Orion Underboss over the recent attack on the Mayflower. It starts at warp 1, needs warp 13 to complete, and the game lists a recommended level of 1. Two fights in Kepler-018 lead to a choice: arrest the Underboss or destroy the ship. Arresting pays recruit tokens and destroying pays Parsteel and repair speed ups. Both paths add 600 Federation Points and unlock Under Wraps.
Greed Begets Greed objectives
The shared part of the mission has four objectives:
- Meet with the Orion Underboss in Kepler-018. Location: Kepler-018.
- Defeat the Orion Enforcer. Location: Kepler-018. Enemy strength is roughly 22,909.
- Disable the Underboss’ vessel. Location: Kepler-018. Enemy strength is roughly 17,062.
- Decide what to do with the Underboss.
The two fights come first. The Orion Enforcer is the harder of the pair at about 22,909, and the Underboss’ vessel follows at about 17,062. Then comes the choice split, where the Underboss in question is Thesaz.
Choice 1: arrest Thesaz
- Return to Marcus in Lorillia.
Rewards: 250 Federation Recruit Token, 75 Premium Recruit Token, 60 Federation Credits, 600 Federation Points, -475 Klingon Points.
Choice 2: destroy Thesaz’ ship
- Return to Marcus in Lorillia.
Rewards: 189,000 Parsteel, 12 15 Minute Repair Speed Up, 60 Federation Credits, 600 Federation Points, -475 Klingon Points.
Both paths finish with the same trip to Lorillia. Only the rewards change.
Where and what warp
The mission is available from warp 1 and needs warp 13 to complete. Kepler-018 holds the meeting and both fights, and Lorillia is where you report back to Marcus. The recommended level is listed as 1; the real test is the Orion Enforcer at roughly 22,909.

Greed Begets Greed needs less warp than the missions on either side of it, and its fights are the lightest of the three.
Tips
Pick the path by what you are short on. The arrest route pays 325 recruit tokens in total, while the destroy route pays 189,000 Parsteel and three hours of repair speed ups. The Federation Credits and faction points are identical, so they should not sway the choice.
Watch the Klingon loss. Both paths take 475 Klingon Points, the same as A Gift Horse before it. Other missions sorted by level are on the mission guide.
