The Starfleet Academy: Remote Campus is a late-game station building that raises your Critical Mitigation against Academy Training Drones and Academy Combat Drones in Academy systems and Duo Wave Defense. It unlocks at Betrieb level 61 and upgrades to level 80. From level 20 it opens daily Sigma-resource exchanges in the Akademie Refinery and lowers 7★ building material costs, and from level 30 it adds PvE and PvP Apex Barrier. Build it if you run Academy content; skip it if you don’t.
What the Starfleet Academy: Remote Campus does
The Remote Campus is a home base for the 32nd century Sternenflotten-Akademie cadets, and its main job is defensive. Every level increases Critical Mitigation against all Academy hostiles in Academy systems and in Duo Wave Defense. Critical Mitigation is true critical damage mitigation, applied after every other bonus you carry. Every 500 points reduces the critical damage you can take by 1%, so the building keeps scaling as you push it higher. It starts at 500 at level 1 and reaches 2,000,000 at level 80.
Two more benefits open at level 20. The Academy Refinery Sigma bonus increases the Σ-Parsteel, Σ-Tritanium, and Σ-Dilithium you pull from daily exchanges, and 7★ Building Material Cost Efficiency lowers the 7★ Kristall, Gas, and Ore you spend on station upgrades. At level 30 the building starts adding Apex Barrier for both PvE and PvP fights. Both Apex Barrier buffs pause while Tal is on your bridge, and the PvP version also pauses while you defend your own station. Reaching each 10th level from 20 onward hands out a one-time gift of Academy Field Passes, Simulation Codes, and Σ-Speedups.

How to unlock the Starfleet Academy: Remote Campus
You place the Remote Campus once your station reaches Operations level 61. The level 1 build asks for 3,080 6★ Gemeinsame Refined Gas, one Campus Schematics, and 270,100 Σ-Parsteel, and finishes in about 26 minutes.
The Operations gate stays at 61 for most of the climb, then rises near the top. Level 65 needs Operations 65, level 70 needs Operations 70, level 75 needs Operations 75, and level 80 needs Operations 80. So the first 64 levels only ask for Operations 61, while the last handful move in step with your Operations level.
Upgrade costs and build times
Costs shift from 6★ Common Refined Gas at the bottom to 6★ Uncommon, then 6★ Seltene and 7★ gas near the top, alongside a steady Class Honors and Σ-Parsteel bill. Build times stay short into the 50s and then climb steeply.

How the Starfleet Academy: Remote Campus fits your station
This building only pays off if you actually run Academy content: the Academy systems, the Training and Combat Drones, and Duo Wave Defense. If you never touch that content, the Critical Mitigation does nothing for you and the upgrade bill buys little.
If you do run Academy content, the useful targets are the level 20 and level 30 breakpoints, not level 80. Level 20 turns on the daily Sigma-resource exchanges and the 7★ material discount, both of which help your wider station economy. Level 30 adds the PvE and PvP Apex Barrier that carries into ordinary combat. Reaching level 30 costs a fraction of the time and resources the top levels demand, so most players park the Remote Campus somewhere in the 20s or 30s and come back to it slowly.
Is the Starfleet Academy: Remote Campus worth upgrading?
For Academy players, yes, up to a point. The Critical Mitigation, refinery exchanges, cost discount, and Apex Barrier all matter if you grind Academy systems and Duo Wave Defense, and the early levels are cheap enough to clear quickly. Past level 65 the build times run into hundreds and then thousands of days, so treat the top of the track as a long-term project rather than a near-term goal. Players who ignore Academy content can safely leave this one unbuilt.
