Multiphasic Chamber

The Multiphasic Chamber is an Uncommon Chaos Tech artifact that slots onto a ship and speeds up long-distance travel. At full upgrade it raises the ship’s warp speed by 500% and adds 30 to its warp range, so the ship reaches farther systems and gets there faster. It sits in the game’s Exploration group, which makes it a travel tool rather than a combat piece. For players who move around the galaxy a lot, it earns its slot.

If you want to increase warp range in STFC, the Chamber is one of the cheapest ways to do it, and it stacks with ship tier-ups, two Forbidden Tech pieces and a couple of Offiziere. The table further down lists every option.

What Multiphasic Chamber does

The chamber carries two buffs, and both switch on as soon as you unlock the piece at tier 1. The headline effect is warp speed: it starts at +5% and climbs to +500% at max tier and level, which cuts the real-time wait on every jump. The second buff extends warp range, starting at +3 and reaching +30, letting the ship reach systems it otherwise could not.

Buff Freigeschaltet ab Stufe Unlock value Max value
Increase warp speed Stufe 1 +5% +500%
Increase warp range Stufe 1 +3 +30

In play, the range number decides which systems are in reach and the speed number decides how long each trip takes, so the two work together on any ship you send on long hauls. Values shown are current and can change if the game rebalances the piece.

Both buffs scale with the item’s level. At level 15 the Chamber gives +10 warp range and +120% warp speed, so most of the payoff sits in the last levels between 15 and 30.

How to increase warp range in STFC

Warp range is the number that gates which systems a ship can reach. The Chamber adds a flat amount on top of everything else, and these are the other sources that raise it.

Quelle Typ Warp range effect
Ship tier-ups Ship upgrades Each ship’s base range rises as you tier it up, for example the Valdore goes from 85 at tier 1 to 210 at tier 12
Multiphasic Chamber Chaos Tech, Uncommon +3 at unlock to +30 at max, plus up to +500% warp speed
[PRO] Orion Syndicate Bomb Forbidden Tech, Seltene +5 to +50 base warp range
Quantum Slipstream Drive Forbidden Tech, Episch +1% to +15% base warp range
TOS Montgomery Scott Captain maneuver +4 warp range for Explorers
Ghrush Officer ability (bridge) +6% to +15% warp range, by officer rank

Chaos Tech and Forbidden Tech use separate slots and separate Fusion Rods, so the Chamber does not compete with the two Forbidden Tech pieces for the same slot.

How to get Multiphasic Chamber

The Multiphasic Chamber is Chaos Tech, so it runs on the Chaos Tech currencies rather than the standard Forbidden Tech fragments. You unlock a Chaos Tech slot with Chaos Tech Fusion Rods, which also let you remove a piece later; you pick these up in the Continuum refinery or the store. Chaos Tech Fragments are the raw material: you earn them when you gain excess Chaos Tech shards and exchange them into usable Chaos Tech materials in the Continuum refinery.

Upgrading Multiphasic Chamber

Upgrading works on two tracks. Tiering up raises the level cap and, on many pieces, unlocks extra buffs at higher tiers; here both buffs are already active from tier 1, so tiering up mainly lifts the cap so you can push the values higher. Leveling up then scales those values toward the max. Tier-ups cost Chaos Tech Tier-Up Catalyst, and levels cost Chaosmatter and Chaos Tech Reactor.

Ebene Level cap Kosten
Stufe 1 5 Starting tier
Stufe 4 20 8.500 Chaos Tech Tier-Up Catalyst
Stufe 6 30 11.200 Chaos Tech Tier-Up Catalyst

Reaching max tier costs 43,100 Chaos Tech Tier-Up Catalyst in total. Leveling all the way to 30 costs 26,475 Chaos Tech Reactor and 63,200 Chaosmatter. You earn the Chaosmatter and reactors by defeating Assimilated El-Aurian hostiles and exchanging their loot in the Continuum refinery, or buy them in the store.

Best ships and uses for Multiphasic Chamber

This is a travel piece, so it belongs on whatever ship you send across the map most. That often means a survey or exploration ship you use to reach distant mining systems, or a main ship you jump between star systems and events. The warp range buff matters when a system sits just out of reach, and the speed buff pays off on any route you run over and over. It does nothing in a fight, so keep it off a dedicated combat build.

Multiphasic Chamber in Star Trek

The Multiphasic Chamber comes from “Equinox,” a two-part Voyager story. Stranded far from home, Captain Ransom and the crew of the U.S.S. Equinox found that nucleogenic lifeforms from another realm could be converted into a potent fuel that boosted their warp drive and cut years off the trip back to the Alpha Quadrant. The chamber trapped these creatures in a multiphasic force field and processed them into a crystalline compound. Killing sentient beings for speed crossed a line Captain Janeway would not, and the fight over that choice destroyed the Equinox and its chambers. The game keeps the premise intact: raw travel power carrying an ugly moral cost.

Multiphasic Chamber FAQ

Is the Multiphasic Chamber bought with Multiphasic Credits?

No. Multiphasic Credits are a separate resource, and none of the Chamber’s tier-up or level-up costs use them. The Chamber runs on Chaos Tech Tier-Up Catalyst, Chaosmatter and Chaos Tech Reactor.

Does the Chamber work on any ship?

Yes. Neither buff names a ship or hull type, so it raises warp range and warp speed on whichever ship carries it.

Is Multiphasic Chamber worth it?

As an Uncommon piece, the Multiphasic Chamber is one of the cheaper Chaos Tech artifacts to unlock, and the +500% warp speed at the top end is a real quality-of-life gain for anyone who spends a lot of time traveling. If you move around the galaxy often, it is worth unlocking and leveling. If you mostly sit in one area and fight, spend your Chaos Tech materials elsewhere first.
