Last Chance Saloon

Last Chance Saloon is a single-objective mission in Rek’Sgar that comes down to one fight against a hostile called “The Beast”. Reaching it takes warp 185, and finishing it pays 106,667,000 parsteel, 160 4-star gemeinsame explorer parts, and 40,000 officer XP. Short mission, heavy payout, as long as your ship can handle a target sitting near 10.5 million strength.

Last Chance Saloon objectives

There is one step, and it happens in the same system where you pick the mission up.

  • Defeat “The Beast” in Rek’Sgar. The target reads at roughly 10,476,166 strength.

No choice split, no escort leg, no second system to travel to. Win the fight and the mission closes out.

Wo und welcher Warp

Rek’Sgar is both the pickup point and the place the fight happens. Warp to start and warp to complete are the same figure, 185, so the mission never pulls you further out than the system you accepted it in. That number is the real gate. If your ship’s warp range falls short of 185 you cannot begin, and no amount of combat power gets around it. Anyone running this normally brings a combat-ready ship out on the first trip rather than jumping to Rek’Sgar twice.

Last Chance Saloon rewards

Completing the mission pays out:

  • 106,667,000 parsteel
  • 160 4-star common explorer parts
  • 40,000 officer XP

The parsteel arrives as one lump rather than trickling in across several objectives, which is most of why a one-fight mission is worth the trip out. The explorer parts are the 4-star common tier, so how useful they are depends on whether you still have ships at that tier to build or repair. The officer XP is generic and goes toward whoever you feed it to.

Tips

Compare your ship power to the target before you engage. At roughly 10.48 million strength, “The Beast” is a set-piece fight rather than a grind spawn, and there is no partial credit: the objective only clears on a kill, so a failed attempt costs you repair time and gets you nothing. If the first pass goes badly, repair fully before trying again instead of chipping away at it.

Warp 185 sits well past early-game range. If you are short, warp range research and the right ship come before anything else on this mission, because there is no route that shortens the trip. Check the range on the ship you plan to fight with, not just your longest-range ship, since the same hull has to make the jump and win the fight.

Nothing needs staging in advance. With a single objective there are no donations to stockpile, no survey legs, and no mining detours, so the only preparation that matters is a healthy ship and a crew you already trust in combat. That makes this a good mission to slot into a session where you do not have time for a long chain.

Treat the parsteel as building funding rather than pocket change. A payout above 100 million lands at a point in the game where base upgrades are getting expensive, so it is worth having an upgrade queued up before you turn the mission in.

Third Times’s the Charm sits beside Last Chance Saloon in the same stretch of the mission list, so if you are working through that section you will probably reach both close together.
