Life Support is a short rescue mission in Star Trek Fleet Command. A Rigellian ship is trapped in a gravity well, and you fly out to find it, pick a rescue plan and report back to Rigel II. The game recommends level 15, the mission is picked up in Rigel, and warp 10 covers both the start and the finish. Either rescue plan pays 5,000 Parsteel and a Rigellian Datapad, so it is a quick errand with no combat.

Life Support objectives

The mission has two shared steps, then a choice, then a return trip:

  • Find the lost Rigellian ship. Location: Nelve.
  • Decide the best rescue plan.
  • Return to Rigel II. Location: Rigel.

The rescue plan choice

At the second step the mission branches and asks you to decide the best rescue plan. The two options are to destroy the Rigellian ship or to return with help. Each has its own path in the mission, but both lead to the same final objective:

  • Destroy the Rigellian ship, then return to Rigel II in the Rigel system. Rewards: 5,000 Parsteel and 1 Rigellian Datapad.
  • Return with help, which also means returning to Rigel II in the Rigel system. Rewards: 5,000 Parsteel and 1 Rigellian Datapad.

Because the follow-up objective and the payout are identical on both branches, the choice is a story decision. Pick whichever rescue plan you prefer; it does not change what you have to do next or what you receive.

Wo und welcher Warp

Life Support starts in Rigel. From there you travel to Nelve to find the stranded ship, then come back to Rigel II to close the mission. Warp 10 is enough for every step, and the start and completion values are the same, so there is no extra jump at the end.

The recommended level is 15. None of the three objectives involves a fight, a donation or a hostile count, so any ship that can reach Nelve can finish the mission.

Life Support rewards

Belohnung Destroy the ship Return with help
Parsteel 5,000 5,000
Rigellian Datapad 1 1

The Parsteel is a small but useful amount at level 15. You get one Rigellian Datapad whichever plan you pick, so the choice never costs you the item.

Tips

This is a travel-only mission, so send a spare ship rather than pulling your main combat ship off hostiles or mining. The route is short: Rigel to Nelve and back.

Do not spend time weighing the rescue plan. Both branches end with the same Return to Rigel II objective and the same 5,000 Parsteel and Rigellian Datapad, so either answer finishes the mission.

If you already have a ship working near Rigel, you can pick the mission up and finish it between other tasks. Warp 10 also makes it easy to slot in while you wait on longer timers at your station, and the whole run is two short hops.

Since the reward is small, it is best treated as a quick bonus on the way through the level 15 range. For other missions at a similar level, see the STFC mission guide.
