Combat Training 6: Veteran is the last step of the level 6 Combat Training set in Star Trek Fleet Command. Instead of a hostile count, it gives you one scripted fight: defeat the hostile captain, a target of about 669 strength. It runs at warp 1 from start to finish and the game lists a recommended level of 1. The reward is 90 Dilithium, eight 5 Minute Speed Ups and 2 Shev Akria shards, and completing it opens Combat Training 7: Rookie.
Combat Training 6: Veteran objectives
Like every Combat Training mission, the story line is simply to test your skills in battle against hostile enemies of rising difficulty. There is one objective and no choice split:
- Defeat the hostile captain. Enemy strength is roughly 669.
No system is named for the captain. In this series the Veteran step is a single named target rather than a count of ordinary hostiles.
Wo und welcher Warp
Warp 1 to start and warp 1 to complete, with no pickup system.
The recommended level is listed as 1. At about 669 strength, the captain is a light fight for any crewed combat ship at this early stage.
Combat Training 6: Veteran rewards
| Belohnung | Amount |
|---|---|
| Dilithium | 90 |
| 5 Minute Speed Up | 8 |
| Schew Akria shards | 2 |
Completing it unlocks the next step in the series, Combat Training 7: Rookie.
Soldier and Veteran at level 6
Current game data for the last two level 6 steps:
| Step | Objective | Belohnungen |
|---|---|---|
| Soldier | Defeat 3 hostiles of level 6 or higher | 55 Dilithium, 1,000 Officer XP, 2 Shev Akria shards |
| Veteran | Defeat the hostile captain (about 669) | 90 Dilithium, 8 5 Minute Speed Ups, 2 Shev Akria shards |
Shev Akria is a Common Engineering officer who needs 5 shards to reach rank 1. The Soldier and Veteran steps together pay 4, so one more shard finishes the unlock.
Veteran captains at early levels
Each level’s Veteran captain gets a little stronger. Current game data for nearby Veteran steps:
| Mission | Captain strength | Dilithium | Speed ups | Scherben |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Kampftraining 6: Veteran | about 669 | 90 | 8 × 5 Minute | 2 Shev Akria |
| Kampftraining 7: Veteran | about 971 | 150 | 6 × 10 Minute | 2 Vel K’Bentayr |
| Kampftraining 9: Veteran | about 1,903 | 400 | 6 × 15 Minute | 2 T'Laan |
| Kampftraining 10: Veteran | about 2,334 | 600 | 8 × 15 Minute | 2 Helvia |
The level 6 captain is the weakest in this range. By level 10 the captain is more than three times as strong, and the Dilithium payout has grown more than sixfold.
The level 6 Soldier step just before this one asks for three hostiles of level 6 or higher.
Tips
Save the speed ups for early builds. Eight 5 minute speed ups cover 40 minutes, longer than the 26 minute build of Shipyard level 5, so at this stage they can finish a small upgrade outright.
Move on to Kampftraining 7: Rookie straight away. It asks for a single hostile of level 7 or higher and pays 60 Dilithium and a Vel K’Bentayr shard.
