Holo-Program: Fizzbin

Holo-Program: Fizzbin is a level 55 holodeck mission in Star Trek Fleet Command. Reginald Barclay loads a program from the adventures of Captain Kirk’s Enterprise, and you have to rescue Kirk from a Klingon Bird of Prey while he stalls the crew with the rules of a card game he is making up as he goes. It starts at warp 1 and needs warp 53 to complete. The reward is a TOS James T. Kirk shard, 35,000 Officer XP, 600 3 Hour Repair Speed Ups and 2,000 Latinum, for three objectives and one fight.

Holo-Program: Fizzbin objectives

Kirk contacts you from a Klingon ship after tapping into its communications array. He tells you to trace his signal and then asks you to lead the Klingons to Qu’Vat, his last known location as far as his own crew knows. While you work, he keeps the Klingon captain busy with Fizzbin, a game whose rules change depending on the day of the week.

  • Find Kirk deep in Klingon territory. Location: Ty’Gokor.
  • Lead the Klingons away. Location: Qu’Vat.
  • Defeat the Klingons while Kirk escapes. Location: Qu’Vat. Enemy strength is roughly 28,524,865.

There is no choice split, so every player runs the same three steps. Once the Klingon captain notices you are following, the fight starts and Kirk slips away. Afterwards he thanks you for the help and asks whether you have a deck of cards.

Wo und welcher Warp

The mission starts at warp 1 with no pickup system listed, so you can accept it from anywhere. Completing it needs warp 53, which covers the trip to Ty’Gokor and on to Qu’Vat in Klingonisch space. The recommended level is 55.

Both of the later objectives happen in Qu’Vat, so after the search at Ty’Gokor you only make one more jump before the fight.

Holo-Program: Fizzbin is a standalone mission and does not unlock a follow-up part.

Tips

The only combat is the Klingon fight in Qu’Vat, listed at about 28.5 million strength. At a recommended level of 55 that is a light fight, so a ship that can make the warp 53 trip should be able to win it without much preparation.

Because the mission is short, the rewards are good value for the time. The 600 3 Hour Repair Speed Ups are the largest part of the payout and are useful whenever a fleet comes home damaged. The 35,000 Officer XP can go straight into a crew member you are levelling.

If you are collecting the TOS version of Kirk, this mission adds one shard. It is a single shard, so treat it as a small top-up rather than a reason to plan around the mission.

The warp 53 requirement is low for a level 55 mission, which makes this a good one to clear on a secondary ship while your main ship works on longer missions. More missions near this level are listed on the mission guide.
