Fragments of the Past is a Romulan-space mission in Star Trek Fleet Command where you choose which Romulan-allied faction to back in an important operation. The game lists a recommended level of 40. It starts at warp 1 and needs warp 38 to complete, with stops in Iapedes and Kito and one fight against a Starfleet Guard at roughly 910,378 strength. At the end you oversee either the Suliban or the Corvallen operation. The Suliban pay Dilithium, Latinum and speed ups; the Corvallen pay over 33 million Parsteel.
Fragments of the Past objectives
The first five objectives are the same for everyone:
- Meet with Subcommander Litroka on Iapedes. Location: Iapedes.
- Investigate Starfleet activity in Kito. Location: Kito.
- Defeat the Starfleet Guard. Location: Kito. Enemy strength is roughly 910,378.
- Return to Subcommander Litroka on Iapedes. Location: Iapedes.
- Decide which Romulanisch operation to oversee.
The choice decides your reward and the mission that follows. Both options end with the same single step.
Oversee the Suliban

So the route is the same on both sides: Iapedes, then Kito for the investigation and the fight, back to Iapedes, and home.

No pickup system is listed. The mission unlocks at warp 1 and needs warp 38 to complete, which comes from the trips to Iapedes.
The recommended level is 40. The Starfleet Guard in Kito, at around 910,378 strength, is the only fight and the main test of your ship.

The choice also decides the next mission. Overseeing the Suliban unlocks Unreserved Loyalty, and overseeing the Corvallen unlocks Unquestionable Loyalty.
Which operation to oversee
The Suliban option is the stronger all-round reward. Seventy 1 Hour Speed Ups add up to 70 hours off your timers, and the 656,000 Dilithium and 12 Latinum come on top of that.
The Corvallen option puts everything into Parsteel. At 33,416,000 it is a big lump sum for players saving toward a Parsteel-heavy building upgrade, and the ten 30 Minute Speed Ups come on top.
Since the objectives and the fight are identical, the only things to weigh are these rewards and which of the two follow-up Missionen you want to play next.
Tips
Bring a combat ship that can make the round trip. The Starfleet Guard sits in Kito, between two visits to Iapedes, so the same ship will do all the travel and the fight.
Repair after the Kito fight before heading back to Iapedes if your hull is low. Nothing else in the mission needs combat, so there is no rush.
Decide on the follow-up story before you choose. The two paths lead to different missions, so the choice affects more than this one reward.
