First Contact Day: Prologue

First Contact Day: Prologue is a short Borg event mission in Star Trek Fleet Command, recommended for level 15. A Zefram Cochrane from another timeline, one overrun by the Borg, warns you that the Collective has come through time to reset history and sees you as a threat. It starts at warp 1 and needs warp 13 to complete. You fight the same Borg scout twice, near your station and then in Opla, and earn 200 Ship XP, a 12 Hour Assignment Speed Up and 280 Dilithium.

First Contact Day: Prologue objectives

There are four objectives and no choice split:

  • Deploy a signal amplifier near your station.
  • Defeat the invading Borg vessel. Enemy strength about 6,600.
  • Trace the Borg signature to the Opla system. Location: Opla.
  • Destroy the Borg vessel. Location: Opla. Enemy strength about 6,600.

Cochrane sends you to a set of coordinates where an old friend’s data makes the Borg scout visible. He also insists he is not a doctor in his timeline. The scout, a partially assimilated ship, is watching your station. You drive it off, and instead of going back through the rift it runs to Opla. There it demands your surrender, and you finish it before its drones can reach the local planets.

Wo und welcher Warp

No pickup system is listed and the mission starts at warp 1. The first two objectives are near your station, and the chase to Opla needs warp 13. The recommended level is 15.

Both fights are against the same Borg vessel at roughly 6,600 strength.

Tips

Any combat ship at level 15 can handle a 6,600 strength Borg scout. Repair between the two fights if you need to, since the second one is in Opla.

The 12 Hour Assignment Speed Up is the most useful reward for a player at this level. Every mission by level is on the mission guide.
