Dark Words is a short investigation mission in Star Trek Fleet Command. You answer a civilian distress signal, and every step with a location happens in the Hann system. It starts at warp 1 and needs warp 18 to complete, and the game lists a recommended level of 1. There are no fights. The reward is twelve 30 Minute Speed Ups and five 3★ Ungewöhnlich Refined Crystal, and finishing it unlocks Tell Me Why. It is an easy mission once Hann is in range.
Dark Words objectives

- Investigate the distress signal. Location: Hann.
- Examine the destroyed fleet. Location: Hann.
- Examine the colony. Location: Hann.
- Return the sample to your Station.
The first three steps all happen in Hann. You follow the signal, look over the wreckage of a destroyed fleet, then look at the colony itself. The last step takes the sample you collected back to your station, and the mission closes when you dock.
No hostile is listed and no Ressourcen are donated. The only things that can slow you down are travel time and warp range.
Wo und welcher Warp
Dark Words becomes available at warp 1. Completing it takes warp 18, the range needed to reach Hann. Because the three investigation steps share one system, the route is a single trip out and a single trip home.
The recommended level is listed as 1. Warp 18 is the real requirement, and it comes from your ship and warp research rather than your account level.

The twelve speed ups add up to six hours of general speed up time. Completing the mission also unlocks the next one, Tell Me Why.
Dark Words next to Patience is a Virtue

Patience is a Virtue is the combat mission of the pair, with Mudd to catch in Medua. Dark Words asks for six more warp but no fighting, and it pays more speed up time: six hours against two.
Tips
Send whatever ship has the range. With no hostile listed, a survey or mining ship that reaches warp 18 can finish Dark Words just as well as a combat ship, which leaves your fighters free for other work.
Refined Crystal is slow to build up early on, so the five 3★ Uncommon Refined Crystal are worth more than the small number suggests.
